Phil-Am Foods — Local services in New York

I love how compact and neat this store is. It's very well organized and very well stocked up with produce, frozen and shelf stable groceries, as well as prepared food. I was able to find all of the Southeast Asian food and ingredients that I was after for months and that aren't readily available online and at a price point of a local mom-and-pop. The store is a bit off the major public transit veins, but boy it was worth a haul! The staff are very efficient, helpful and respectful (including in maintaining the COVID-19 public safety precautions). I will definitely pay a visit again...

Phil-Am Food Mart is a great place to get Filipino snacks! They have tons of different shrimp chips, corn snacks, and pantry staples. They have different kinds of breads like pan de sal. There is also hot food options in the back. I recommend their chicken macaroni salad, barbecue, pork adobo (they can do a pork and chicken adobo combo), lumping Shanghai, and palabok. Must stop for this staple if/when you’re in the area! Awesome Filipino/Asian grocery store, where they also have fresh food, as well as frozen! They have a partner restaurant across the street, which I’d also recommend! Especially when they’re doing Kamayan. If there’s something you want that isn’t out, be sure to ask because they may have it in stock...
