Came here and it was closed. Even though they have a sign on the door saying they will be open early September. While I write this review, 2 other patrons are peeking in the window. One man stated he came from Brooklyn and actually spoke to the woman owner, and she indicated the store would be open the week of September 3rd. I understand the owner had a personal family reason for the original closing. However, it is disconcerting for customers to arrive according to the stated time on the outside of the store and store is locked up. Some will say, you should have called before going. But if you live in the city, you’ll know that a lot of businesses here don't answer the phone even if they are open, when they are busy. Very disappointed possible new customer.

Just got my boots back and they look amazing! I just needed new sliders on my zippers that were broken or ripped off on old boots. My first time ever repairing a shoe/boot. I thought it would cost an arm and a leg just to get a new slider but to my surprise it was $10 each zipper. That is a very reasonable price and they were straight to the point when I came in with the boots. The place is small but they get to work and r very organized. So u will basically be in and out with them. I have a before and after photo. Amazing job! They r a life saver and ill be sure to be back with any future shoe repairs

Phillip's was a more than fair price ($46) to put new soles merged into my original EVA foam soles that are quite comfy. Going to take my double mink strap boots into his shop and see how those turn out.

Dropped off my bag and was quoted 1 week. On and on the lady went about how much she was going to do for my bag. Charged $80 for straps- but she said it would be worth it, the best European quality. One week later-not ready, second week…nope! Im ok because I was excited for the finished bag. THIRD week, she had no bag because it is in another location? There is ZERO apology for the 2 week delay or my time. I return again and she was just beginning to glue straps right then- where is the amazing work on my straps?? Glue. Speaking under her breathe she is saying how they have so much wealth and business. The second Lady behind the machine was nicer, calming the sister I presumed . She went on, how they don’t need my business, “their” people give them so much business!! I guess I’m not the right race or ethnic group! My patience for a 3 week order is not even acknowledged. When I told her how I'm shocked how I’m being treated for just wanting my bag. The old man starts yelling at me about how I'm always wanting things, fast, right away, how I’m rushing them and he is gesturing me to leave, really rude in half spoken English . Who is he referring to? Me?! What a mistake I made reading all these great reviews-NEVER WILL RETURN-mentally unstable pair. I paid her after she put 10 mins of work glueing and left. They did nothing incredible, but since few people do this old school trade, they now think they can treat people like garbage because they do get a lot of the local business. Clearly I didn’t understand that I was the lucky one because they did me a favor and took my order....

I was just at this place for the first time because I wanted to fix one of my boots, and I found the place online on my way home from work. And the person was rude and refused me. I won't get into the details, but she was very rude, and she wouldn't fix it, and when I know the part that I want fixed, could be fixed. I've been to a place in my old neighborhood before and never got refused. She told me she didn't want to waste her time. But it first starts off, when I went into the place, I didn't even get a greeting. Someone else who worked there opened the locked door for me, and I said Thank you and I don't even get you're welcome, no problem, nothing. And this other man came in that she was very rude to him while I'm standing there waiting. Nice way to treat people is. Well, that's what you expect from certain...
