Plant Corner has probably taken 1st place in my heart as my favorite plant shop. I’ve explored nurseries, plant shops, and big box stores all over nyc and westchester, and plant corner has one of the most diverse selection of rare plants, among more common houseplants :) I love how there’s always something new on a regular basis and surprises with every visit. What I love most about the store is the opportunity to get baby rare plants for more affordable prices (compared to large established plants), as well as cuttings that Jira propagates on her own. Overall the prices here are very fair. They’re not big box dirt cheap, but also not over the top/hiked. I would describe it as typical NYC prices, and likely cheaper or same value as what you’d find online - with the added benefit that these plants are already acclimated to NY weather (vs coming from hot and humid places like FL which risks shock). All the plants are very healthy and has been in Jira’s care before she sells them to new homes! This ensures that there are good roots and growth. The first few plants I bought here were doing so well after bringing them home that I had to go back and entrust my investment with more plants! Some plants that I’ve gotten at nurseries go through shock when they get to my apartment, I assume because humidity and temps are just way too different. But I feel that plants coming from Plant Corner won’t die on me as easily. Jira is also very knowledgeable about plants and offers great advice. They also carry many planters, soil mixes, plant food, etc!

I stopped by Plant Corner after work, empty pot in hand, hoping to find a replacement for a fiddle-leaf fig that didn’t survive my low-light apartment. The moment I walked in, it felt less like a shop and more like stepping into someone’s cozy plant-filled living room - warm, tranquil, and inviting. I was greeted by Sadé, who was absolutely wonderful. Even though it was her first day, she was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. I know very little about plants and was pretty indecisive, but she walked me through all my options, explained what would thrive in my space, and shared super helpful care tips. Her enthusiasm for plants is so contagious, I left wanting to buy half the shop! With her help, I found the perfect plant, and I’m already in love with it. I’ll definitely be back for future plant purchases. Highly, highly recommend Plant Corner!

I’m OBSESSED with Plant Corner!! Jira is so knowledgeable and sweet. When I first moved to Harlem two years ago, I populated my whole apartment with Plant Corner and most of my plants are not only still alive but THRIVING! My monstera has tripled in size and I have gifted many cuttings to friends and family growing their own jungles. PC is beautiful and a perfect place to add to your post-brunch shopping plans and regular Harlem haunts. The space is beautifully curated with common plants as well as rare and carnivorous plants! Get a plant and a pot and they will repot it for free in house! Perfect place to buy gifts for friends or coworkers. Cute keychains and etc etc etc Can’t say more positive things about Plant Corner!

Beautiful place that had a "Help Wanted" sign in the window. Like most gentrifiers, these dreamers bring their businesses into the Harlem community because they know we'll support them; but they won't hire from the pool of generational locals within this community.

In other words, they take but not replenish. 99% of these Harlem implants open businesses and do not hire people from the community.

We stopped in, well one of us went up the stairs to have a look inside and to inquire about the position. And it wasn't so much the cold "no" that caused this review, it was the manner in which it was given.

The Asian woman who was there at the counter tending to a plant didn't even bother to look up, smile and greet. There was no one there except her and I, so she wasn't busy with customers. It's like she looked at me and immediately looked away, so I had to talk to the side of her face. That was rude enough.

As usual, Harlem is good enough to rent a space and take advantage of the commercial abundance that can be found here, but not worthy of a friendly greeting or a kind response, "how are you? I'm sorry, we're not hiring right now. My name is so and so, nice to meet you...." In that moment, she was rudely short, spiritually disconnected, insensitive, and silently obnoxious. It saddens me to see the condition of our community with these business owners that act like invaders rejecting the locals (not implants and immigrants) who actually live here for the last 7 generations. I personally won't go back. If I need plants I'll walk over to la marqueta on Park Ave at 116th street -...

Plant Corner is a haven - just one step into the store and you no longer feel the chaos of the city, but the loving calm of the beautiful plants. They carry something for everyone. If you're a collector, prepare to fall in love. Plant novice? They carry plenty of options to nudge you into the beautiful world of plants. There is also a huge price range, with something for every budget. The owner is always open to chatting about the plants, helping you find the best plant for your needs and space, and providing helpful guidance so you know exactly what to do when you get your plant home. They also carry tons of beautiful planter options as well as fun gifts for your favorite plant enthusiast. Their online store is great for shipping outside of NY. I have gifted several plants from Plant Corner, for birthdays and host/hostess gifts - they provide so much joy compared to the short term impact of something like a bottle of wine or flowers. Each of my recipients continues to love their plants! And if you need one more reason to shop here, how great is it to support a local, female minority owned shop, who is actively giving back to neighbors and the local community? That's something I can feel good about. Don't walk, run to get yourself to this beautiful spot. Chances are I'll be there trying to decide on my...
