I had to cancel my membership at this club just a few weeks after joining. I am disabled. I have low vision and do not see well in the dark. Officially I am legally blind. Blink is the worst gym to join. is not a safe. . The company as well as the employees do not care what happens to you while you're on the premises.I was working out at the gym on a Saturday a few weeks ago. I had only had an hour to complete my workout. I was on a spin bike that is broken and the lights were cut off 10 minutes before closing. I had to fumble off the bike And was only able to see because the spin bikes were close to the entrance . It was Saturday they close at seven so it was still out. When I spoke to a young lady at the front desk, I told her that I was disabled and told her that I needed the lights turned back on. She said to me that the manager had shut the lights off and the young lady who she said was a manager was walking out. when I said to her that I needed the lights turned on that I was disabled she said they shut off the lights 10 minutes before closing and walked out. That Monday I calledv and emailed the general manager. The young man I spoke to apologize, on behalf of his employee, and said that he was going to speak to his staff, and that it wouldn't happen again. The following Saturday it did happen again. I called him that Monday again to let him know, and he said I will speak to his staff again. Yet I was there this weekend and sure enough eight minutes before closing they shut off the lights. This is insane becauseWhen I had spoken to the young lady that Saturday she had told me that it was company policy to shut the lights off before closing. I have worked in gyms for over10 years never have I heard of such a policy. I do not think that a gym would endanger The welfare of any of its members But this is blink. They don't care that I'm disabled. They don't care that. I don't feel safe in their gym. They don't care about my rights as a disabled person And that this is a form of discrimination. When I called the manager back I lasked him to cancel my membership Three times a charm I don't like going back-and-forth .membership canceled. He just agreed And told me that he would cancel it immediately. If he reached out to his staff and told them not to shut the lights before closing they would do it. I was doing more research on this membership and I was reading the terms and conditions. As a member, you sign a waiver, excluding yourself from class action lawsuits.. Blink fitness Has all of its members sign an arbitration waiver. So if something were to happen to you on their premises, the only thing you can do is speak to blink fitness about what happened. In other words if you get hurt on their premises and it's their fault, you've signed a waiver, waving your rights to take them to court. This is The worst gym to join. I cannot stress this. The employees know it they don't care it is not a safe gym. The gym is overcrowded, There's too much equipment in parts of the gym. For example, the weight training area has too many benches and the members don't like to put their weights away. Last time I was there, it took me half an hour to find the equipment I needed to do my workout. Then my workout got cut short because the lights...
Read moreUsed to be my go to gym. The new equipment is horrible. Many already out of order (assuming not a fault of blink). Fewer pieces of equipment/options and with all the people difficult to get a decent flow. Are they adding more equipment (and now there’s much unused space. Here and at 125th)? These new machines and benches really are no good. Not even a plate loaded chest machine, when they’re are two plate loaded back machines! Calf machine, horrible. Squat racks with pullup bar, horrible. Decline bench, horrible. Just to name a few. Glute machine (hip thrust), hack squat, more dumbbells, all good additions though. At least spring for an additional trap bar or landmine attachment or replace the foam rollers or add air to the stability balls, or have matching kettlebells (not propping the doors open) or….Sure they look nice, it’s new and shiny. Just bad fitness equipment (from an exercise science perspective). Many of the numerous members feel the same way. Are you adding more equipment? If so, when? Really disappointing bc I liked Blink but now, occasionally leave and go to other gyms. I get refreshing the business and that you cant please all the people all the time, but functionality is key. The equipment needs to do the job for the members. And hopefully, whoever is making decisions on what’s being used in the gym is actually using the gym or has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs of the...
Read moreI signed up early February of this year, after covid I decided to cancel my membership in September. I came to this location to cancel my membership, since this was the place I signed up at. I noticed I have been charged a few times after canceling, so I call member services and was told they see I paid a buy out fee and that something had went wrong on the gyms end and that I needed to go and speak to the manager. So that same day I went to speak to the manager and was told that he wasn’t there but the assistant manager was. The team member went to speak to the assisted manager and came back with the issue still unresolved. I ask to speak to the assisted manager but was told that she was on a conference call and that she would put a ticket in to member services. I was told to email the Manager and explain what is happening( which I had done & haven’t heard from him) And the team member advised me to call back in 5 days for an update. It’s been 5 days and I haven’t heard from the manager, I called member services and the gym ( many of times) and no answered. I went back to the gym but the manager and assistant manager weren’t there. So I will be going back Monday!... this has to be the worst customer services!!!! I’ve been bounced around and haven’t not been...
