Walgreens — Local services in New York

never going back there again.. went to dropped off my son's script and they said 1hr turned around and they continued talking and exchanging their holiday gifts.. I walked away after observing for more than 5 minutes that no one was waiting, during those five min, they didn't touch the basket where they place my slip. I was bother by this and told the manager. I was not happy knowing that it was going to take an hr and there were no one waiting.. I left and came back 2hrs later. when I gave the name she couldn't find it.. she went to the side and saw the script was still in the basket.. then turn to me and said its not ready five more min... WTF.. I didn't say anything and walk away to the front of the store were I spoke to the store manager again. She couldn't believe they didn't have it ready.. she said don't worry I'll talk to them. So I left the store once again. Came back ten minutes later the lady at the register tells me they couldn't find him in the system.. (Really!!) but they stil were able to fill out the script.. that was some bullshit.. either way I continue staying quite didn't say anything to them.. As I was about to leave they call another customer that was waitin and the cashier asked her were you waiting long? she said, yes.. then the cashier responded really loud.. you see she was waitin long and didn't complain.. that was the cherry on top.. She was directing the comment towards me... This people are not proffesional and have no idea what customer service is all about... they need to be retrain or just simply don't work were you need to deal with people... NEVER GOING BACK...

The most atrocious pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of using. Do NOT get your prescriptions here, especially if you take daily medication. They are completely useless and will gaslight you and your provider to try to cover for their own incompetence. Getting my prescription filled every three months is invariably a Kafkaesque nightmare of begging on the phone for five hours at minimum with my provider, my insurance, and this layer of hell masquerading as a local pharmacy. Get your prescriptions LITERALLY anywhere else.

Updating in 2024 to say this is still unequivocally the worst pharmacy I've ever encountered. I am unfortunately forced to get my prescriptions here because of the three-month thing with my insurance, and it is invariably a fight to get my medication every single time. The pharmacy staff are rude and unhelpful and will literally hang up on you when you ask what the problem is. Silvia, I'm looking at you. Go to therapy or...

Good size store, well-lit and well stocked. The staff are always very helpful.

A remarkable thing happened in March when Covid was first beginning to flex.

Obviously, there were no gloves or masks available either here or at any of the other local pharmacies. I went on delivery days for three weeks in a row, and never got gloves.

One day I asked the gentleman behind the counter when were the delivery days because I needed gloves badly. He saw the ones I were wearing were in tatters. He told me to check back on Friday. But then, he gave me 2 pairs of gloves out of his box from behind the counter.

This act of kindness and sense of community did not go unnoted. I am very thankful and humbled to have such fine people in Ridgewood.
