Tiny Arts Supply — Attraction in New York

This store looks very cute, but unfortunately I haven't been able to go inside because their hours are all over the place!

Hours posted are 1-6pm, modest but reasonable. I tried going four times this week. The first time, around 1:15, they were still shuttered. No worries though, they look independent so they probably have a small staff. I thought I'd grab a coffee and check again in a half hour.

1:45, still closed but no big deal. I had some errands to run, I'll go take care of them and come back at 3:30.

This time the shutters were up, but the door was locked and a sign was posted saying 'on break'. Nice. Open for an hour and 45, at most, and already on break. Annoying, but whatever. Maybe it was an off day?

I came back a few days later, this time at 2:15 thinking I would hopefully arrive in between opening and their break. But no, still shuttered. There were a couple people standing outside chatting this time who i suspect were other customers or the owner - either way, I was over it. I tried.

This place seems like it wants to go out of business. Shame too, it looks...

I accidentally came across this great store when I was walking around my new neighborhood, and now I am the constant customer. It’s difficult to express how impressed I was with Tiny Arts Supply, but it has everything what my creative personality needs. When I just came in the store, my first thought was “wow, it’s really tiny. Maybe it’s impossible to find what I need…” Vanessa, the owner of TAS asked me if I needed something specific, and I’ve requested for a large canvases ( I needed it for my painting classes). Vanessa said she doesn’t have it but she was be able to order it for me, and I was really happy because she saved my time and showed me the best service. Now I go to this store twice a week because I trust Vanessa, and I am satisfied with...

Store if either not open during its posted hours, or won’t have what you’re looking for. Even basic items like PVA glue or classic color of paint are usually out of stock.

Ive even gone in when the door is wide open, during operating hours, and was rudely told to get out by the owner and that the store actually wasn’t open. The open sign and wedged open door really fooled me.
