(Age) Segregation is alive and well at this library branch!!! While this word may be triggering for some, it's meant to be! Just like many other libraries, there are adult, teen and children's sections. UNLIKE many other PUBLIC libraries, this library has the AUDACITY TO FORCE separation between the age groups. When I accompanied my teenage son to this library so that we could have some reading time, I wasn't allowed to sit in the teen section, the adult section was overcrowded (no seats available) and when we finally found a quiet spot to read in the children's section (away from any children, mind you. They were all sitting on the other side of the room), we were told we had to leave because we had no young children with us! What kind of library kicks people out???!!! The teen section had plenty of seating but I wasn't allowed to sit there! There may not be racial segregation but there sure is age segregation and with libraries going the way of the old extinct video stores, you would think they would welcome people in, not kick them out!!! The legality of this is very questionable. It is a PUBLIC library. Segregation should NOT be ALLOWED in ANY section of a PUBLIC library, that is being paid for with tax payers' dollars! This is a pathetic excuse of a place and if they keep going the way they are, they will be gone in a few years. It's really sad too because libraries should be a refuge for EVERYONE. Save yourself some time and go elsewhere, where everyone is...
Read moreIt has the loudest librarian on Saturdays. You can hear him throughout the entire library. If he were any louder, it would require him to speak through a bullhorn. No other librarian has corrected his high volume tone. If I see him, I know not to remain much time at this library. I feel bad that he has to wear a mask, but it’s not like the mask muffles anything he says. He obviously makes sure he is heard loud and clear. His ongoing chatter would drive the sane off the wall with his banality of information. I wish someone would tell him he works at a library and not at a Walmart speaking through a broken, muffled mic to clean aisle one. “Is his last name hyphenated or?” No one needs to hear him at work. This is so annoying, but, perhaps it is my fault to believe that a library follows the tradition of quietness and blissful solitude to read. He clearly does not believe that from his motormouth ramble, teeth as pistons. Dude, lower ur voice. WE...
Read moreRude and disrespectful staff! Today was my first time trying to work in this library and I wanted to go early to enjoy some quiet time before kids and teens are out from school. At 11 a.m two members of staff were talking for almost an hour and laughing very loud while myself and the lady sitting next to me working could not concentrate. When one of the staff saw me looking their way, she approached me and asked me "Can I help with something?", I said "no, I just could not focus" and she responded with the most condescending way and said "Well it gets worse after 2:30" then looked me up and down and said " just so you...
