After what was a horrible moving experience with a company that was supposed to do my move and store my furniture, this place was a breath of fresh air. At the last minute the storage company I was using decided they didn't want my business (because I had the audacity to ask the owner 2 questions and to him that was a red flag) and he told the truck to bring the stuff back to my apt. I had already moved out of my apt and had nowhere else to take my 1 Bedroom apt worth of furniture and boxes. I called Extra Space's main line and the woman on the phone had me confirmed for a unit before I could even arrive on property. We got there 20 minutes before closing and it didn't seem like we would be able to get anything in. Enter Rashawn. Rashawn went out of his way to be helpful. He got me set up in the unit, stayed later than he should have to ensure my items got in and because the movers were such disasters, when they couldn't fit everything in because they did the small items first - he volunteered to store some items for me overnight in the back room if i could guarantee getting back there the next day. If not for Rashawn, i would have had to paid these movers 24 hours of OT to store my stuff overnight, or thrown half of my belongings out. Had items stollen out of my unit (big noticeable items like a desk, office chair, tv’s, shoes, handbags, outside games, to name a few things. I’m still working with the detective. The detective is trying to see outside camera footage so I can at least file insurance claim. They aren’t being very cooperative with the officer. The lady who was the supervisor for that location who didn’t work at the site had an attitude when we spoke and almost questioned the validity to what I was saying. The location in Union NJ had my keys as I was living in North Carolina they had two locks on there and had the ONLY access. When I moved back to NJ I had to go to the office to get the key to get in and still had to contact them to remove the secondary lock they placed on there. I paid monthly to have someone rob me and it’s such a violation. Is it fair to have someone take things you worked hard to buy? I am still trying to replace shoes, tv’s, and other items that belonged to my children and me. They left me with one out of four TV’s and the one they left was broken. You go in different states and they have countless locations. I’d think they would do better by their customers. Still...
