We went to a large toy show at a convention. There were rumors among several vendors that certain items we were looking for were here, so we went to check it out on a Saturday. It was incredibly busy, because they had a couple spaces for tabletop games happening. They even had someone to take care of that crowd's needs scanning items so they could also take care of the regular foot traffic, which was thoughtful. I had needed some guidance to locate what we were looking for. Some stores keep certain higher sought after items in a different place of the store, but the guy said what we have is what you see. I can't say that they have a lot of knowledge about their products, because they were too busy to help much. I can say that it was laid out in an almost organized manner. The shelves were clean. The items we were seeking were displayed in 3 different aisles and it's not very obvious that you would need to look in 3 different aisles. They had Marvel, Anime, and Gundam. They had some RPG books. They had DVD and blue-Ray separated. So if you don't know if you're looking for one over the other, check both. Anime movies were mixed in or in a separate area by the blue-ray. They had a decent selection of Gameboy, DS, 3DS, PS4, PS3, Playstation (One), and Xbox games. Generally speaking, it was more inclusive than your typical Buy/Trade used video game store with the tabletop items. The prices were not reflected for what you find online, so do your homework to decide if it's a deal. Some stores will honor the price you find online, and I didn't get a chance to ask if they did. They do allow you to test play if you bring your own consoles in (unlike GameStop), but they don't have a test playing console available like they do at the stores near me. Overall, it's a decent store that has room to compete even more. I'll probably check it out again in the future, but it's not a place I'd do a 2 hour drive for regularly. We don't have very many places like this in the city anymore, so I'm not ruling it out š¤£. Thanks for the staff patience that had a very thriving young adult crowd to help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaxine's is one of the few places I feel in today's world that can do business with a new age customer that has an old school feel the owner Dave insists on doing business in a manner that puts the customer first which is something I feel has been lost along the way for a lot of businesses in today's world they always do their best to make sure that the prices are as far as possible but more importantly that they are doing right by their customer an example of what I mean by that is in my personal experience my son and I had bought some cards there a couple weeks later I realized that one of the cards was actually overpriced and they took the difference off of the transaction that I was currently doing get on the flip side of the coin I also have bought a card there that was worth well more than what I had paid for it and when I found out I pointed it out offered to give it back for the money I paid for it and they absolutely would not hear of it this place has its own little family in there it's like a mom-and-pop shop right down to the corny dad jokes Dave is happy to throw to the customers at any given time of the day I hope this place is around for a long time big thank you to Maxine's as a side note I recommend you just go in there and look around they'll tell you at the door they don't even care if you spend money just come in hang out and have a good time with all of my heart I would urge you to check this place out if you do...

It's unfortunate to spend so much time and money somewhere over the years just to see the slow decline in quality and culture of the store. When doing a trade or sale with the owner, he will go into GREAT (excruciating) detail about the transparency and customer focus of his policies. It's a shame then that his trade/selling policies change with the wind and should you ever take back a trade (something he says is NEVER a problem); he will allow his staff to not only treat you rudely, give you a lower percentage than other customers, but also leave you on the back burner. Add to that fact that the store is RIFE with bootleg figures and counterfeit cards (roommate bought a large number of cards from him, when he took them back to trade later, his "Magic guy" stated they were fake and then got mad when my roommate wanted them back and didn't want to sell. Why would you even want them if they were fake...?) Pricing is very out of wack on most things (sometimes in your favor,...
