Professional Paving Co — Local services in Newark

The house had a very old driveway with stains, cracks, weeds, etc., as can be seen from the picture. We got quotes from two different companies and went with Professional Paving as their price was better. We had the option of paving over the existing drive or having the old asphalt removed and then repaving the driveway, and we went with the second option, scheduling the job for two weeks out. It was more expensive, but well worth it as they did an excellent job.

They took the old asphalt away on Monday and repaved on Tuesday. They did their best both on Monday and Tuesday to smooth out the existing gravel and grade the area. They took about 3 hours each day to do my 1200sf driveway. I inspected the work before I paid and liked what I saw. They paid attention to details, such as the shallow slope up to my back door, the fence posts, and the transition to the sidewalk. We were told not to drive on it for at least 48 hours, though we left it for closer to 96 hours. The Friday after paving (about 72 hours later), there was a huge rainstorm all day which allowed us to see how well they graded the driveway. There were a few small puddles, but they evaporated fairly quickly, and overall, the water flowed easily towards the street.

The only negative was that there were several oil marks left on our concrete sidewalk from the asphalt and machines, but they faded a bit after the rainstorm and it's not such a detriment that I would take a star off.
