I have booked several outings with Pinkies... last sunday i booked a trip for this past Saturday.... well as we all know the wether in Newyago did not corporate.....there was a severe thunderstorm warning. At about 2 there was thunder lighting and very heavy rain.... my trip was scheduled for 1220pm i started calling pinkies at 11 when they said they opened to see what was going on. I finally got someone at like 1130. I asked if they were doing tips because the weather was stating it was going to be bad. The gril that answered the phone siad yes they are putting people in the river. I then said that they wether was going to get bad and i was not comfortable going out. My fear was if the weather got really bad and i was on the river there would be no where to go. I then asked the gril if i could reschedule for next Saturday she told me know that i could not. I then said i felt it was a safety risk and not a good business practice on there part to put people an the river when the weather was stating there was a storm heading that way. I was then put on hold for over 15 minutes before i hung up and tryed to call back. I never got an answer after that. Like insaid earlier we have taken many trips with you. Brought new frinds to you had severl trips planed for our upcoming vacation in August. So i hope you are happy you have my $44.00 from this past Saturday trip.. that will be the last of my money you get. I could completely understand if it was a nice day and i called and wanted to rescheuled..... that was not the case it there was a severe thunderstorm warning!!!! I checked into Wisners their policy states if the weather is bad and you do not feel save on you scheduled trip date you can have a rain check for another date..... Guess from now on i know where i will be going.... you lost $100.00 from me not to mention my word of mouth telling all my friends about my...
Read moreThings to know: Day before you float.... Reservation and prepayment required!! 24 cancelation rule.
Day of float... come prepared! Get there early! I suggest 30 mins before your reservation float. Bring sun screen and bug spray... Bring your own rope and scissor for tying together. Pinkys does not provide these! Get two cooler tubes 1 for your cooler and one for empties and trash.
The float.... The river is absolutely awesome very wide, well kept, great places to stop on the float for you to enjoy your picnic lunch. The tubes have backs on them that make the float very enjoyable. I wish they had cup holders but I'm not complaining. The tubes are high quality and have hand grips so you can get on and off easy.
The end.... Ending the float was confusing a bit because it's not clearly marked as pinkys end...but we figured it out. GO PAST MILE 12 MARKER. Yes, you'll need to pass mile 12 marker by about 15 mins or 1/4 of a mile... you'll go around a bend in the river. you'll look for a boat launch on the right side. You need to bring your tube all the way up the ramp to the bus and trailer. make sure your tubes are untied.
Pinkys will drive you back to your car. Make sure to tip your driver. If they got you there safely and were relatively ontime they deserve a tip.
Overall we had a great experience! We have done many floats over the years and this one definitely ranks as one of the best.
Side note: Remember tube rental company's are not responsible for behavior of people...
Read moreTERRIBLE customer service. Called Saturday 6/26 during the monsoon of rain, and high river warnings to cancel our trip for the next day (Sunday 6/27).. no answer. Called right at 10AM Sunday when they "open".. no answer. Finally get ahold of someone at 10:35AM to ask if we can get refunded because we didn't feel comfortable tubing with the High River conditions. A girl had to call her boss first. Boss REFUSED our refund. Said it had to be 24 hours before ( funny, we called Saturday and no one answered, were they even open during the tornado warning and rain we had 🙄) Get to pinky's, then they have us sign as waiver and gave us life jackets because of treacherous river conditions. (we tube with a group of 8+ twice a year at pinky's and have NEVER had to take a life jacket with us. The young girls at the booth were rude and threw our tubes at us when she dropped us off.
The river was FAST & undertow was real.
Very disappointed today & the customer service with a refund in these...
