UPDATE 3: Looks like our Yelp review has been deleted. Prob because it was posted by LC instead of Mark. Stay tuned, a new 1 star review will b posted by Mark
UPDATE 2: In less than 24 hours they blocked me (Leslie Walden) from posting a corrected post on their Facebook page. Struck a nerve I guess.
UPDATE: The Buyer of the Travel Trailer in 2016 is M. Rudkin. The person who was in the service dept. yesterday and picked up his Travel Trailer from Zuri is M. Rudkin.
LC or Leslie Walden is the partner of M. Rudkin and has been for the better part of 20 years. LC has the Google account. LC has the Facebook account.
M. Rudkin and L Walden are the owners of the Travel Trailer, shopped at RV General Store in 2016 and have both had to deal with the poor customer service of RV General Store, directly or indirectly, for the better part of 3 years.
RV General store it seems does not refute the claims of the initial post, only the identity of the person posting the comments when those posts are critical or are low star ratings.
How about 5 star reviews? Does RV General Store question those? Do they realize Zuri Johnson (their own service department employee) is giving his own service department 5 stars and the owner thanks him on the google review for the 5 star rating??
The 1st and most important thing I can say is there are PLENTY of other RV dealers in the State of Oklahoma and even the region (Texas and Colorado) that I would buy from IF I COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN.
I would recommend this place to browse and look inside RV's as they do have a good selection, but that is where the positive review would end for me.
I bought a Travel Trailer in 2016 from RV General Store and have seen 1st hand how NOT to treat customers AFTER THE SALE.
The service department has been everything from incompetent to outright deceptive in their 'RV WARRANTY FOREVER' slogan, which means you will be paying 'RV General Store' $199.00 bucks a year for as long as you keep your RV and want it covered by the LIMITED warranty.
but there is a new catch to how they can continue to grab more money from your pockets AFTER THE SALE!!
Their new policy of charging 'shop hours' to look at warranty work ($140.00 per hour to look at your RV, even when it's covered under their warranty OR under the manufacturer warranty) is simply double-dipping and tantamount to gouging the consumer, in my opinion.
I have called the 'NWAN' company (the company that handles all warranty work/claims/payments) and told them of the new policy issue at RV General Store. They were surprised that a policy was in place where customers were paying for 'shop hours' while the RV was under the umbrella of the NWAN Warranty.
I have been more than patient with RV General Store.
I have tried to keep my composure while dealing with the service department but enough is enough.
As I write this I hope and pray that 1 person will read and shop and research and understand that there are other places, better places (my opinion) to shop and buy.
I have tried to give the people at RV General Store the benefit of the doubt for the better part of 3 years. The new policy of SHOP HOURS and redundant billing/warranty coverage/charges is too much to ignore.
Today, I was told by Zuri that I could always take my RV someplace else for the work to be performed. For me, that was enough for me to write this review and hopefully point others in a more educated direction for their RV purchase or RV service work.
An RV (travel trailer, motor home, 5th wheel) purchase should be fun, exciting and set you on a path of adventure, not be a project for the RV General Store shop guys to tinker with and forget about and charge inflated and unreasonable amounts of money to simply LOOK at a problem.
Read and believe the reviews, do your research, don't impulse buy, don't be lured by a sale or discounted price, don't purchase all the extras the finance department offers, secure your best finance rate BEFORE you even start to shop and think...
Read moreDo not do business with RV General. If I could give RV General zero stars, I would. We bought a BRAND NEW RV from RV General in November 2018. We had them add a generator, backup camera, satellite system and washer and dryer. After getting the RV, we took it for a weekend at a local RV park to try it out. That's when we noticed they had used a screw much too large and screwed from inside the RV through to the exterior of the RV! The toilet was leaking from the base. The hydraulic leveler was leaking oil. The brackets that were installed (screwed in) to hold the curtain ties were falling off the wall. The electric fireplace wouldn't heat.
We needed the RV for work related travel. We were patient while RV General sent us repeated texts saying they would update us on the status of the repairs. We never received any updates only more texts promising updates. They had our RV for OVER FOUR MONTHS! We were paying and insuring an RV that we couldn't even use.
They called us and told us the RV was ready for us to pick up and use. We picked it up and loaded up for an out-of-town work trip only to realize it was not, in fact, repaired. Additionally, they returned it with a dead battery. We returned it for them to complete the repairs.
Now it's the end of March 2019 and we need the RV for another out-of-town work trip, but once again they returned the RV without the work completed. They are the worst company to deal with. It's a brand new RV!!! There should not be any needed repairs but since there were, they should have completed them properly in much less time than four months.
They do not care about their customers, provide quality service or stand by their RV's. Stay far far away from this business.
"""" In response to RV General's admission to returning our brand new RV with cosmetic problems (although there were more issues than just that)!
The RV is brand new and should not have cosmetic blemishes!!!! The RV was dead and not ready to go when as promised for the second time and additional repairs were not even attempted.
A disgruntled person who was not ever a customer and was upset over missed phone calls are a far cry from not fixing a RV properly after having it for OVER FOUR MONTHS! Way to try to sling mud at our business because you cannot provide the service you promise.
UPDATE It’s been EIGHT MONTHS!!!! RV General says our RV is ready, but they admit to our attorney (Yes, we had to hire an attorney to get our BRAND NEW RV FIXED) that the heater still is not fixed!!!! We have tried to pick up our RV twice and both times they had not fixed it. Additionally, they have not even tried to be accommodating for our loss of use of the RV during this time of their fumbles and bumbles and have continued to treat us, the customer, like the bad guy. They can just give us our money back and we will just take our business some place where they value...

EDIT In response to the owners comment: We never asked for it to be rebuilt or made whole again. I'm not new to repairing campers and knew this would be something I'd have to do with this one. All we we're wanting was the ability to fully test the camper before making a purchase but we were not granted access to water.
Anytime I've made a as-is purchase weather it was a car, real estate, or similar I've been able to fully inspect it before making a decision.
On another note, the camper is unsafe for sale to general public as it doesn't have a working has leak detector or properly working inverter.
END EDIT
We are in the market for a small used camper trailer. We found a older 19' that would be perfect for us so my wife called about it and talked to Leon. Leon said everything works, and it's in "fine" condition. We drove from north OKC (About 30 minutes) and met Leon to take a look. The camper was in disrepair. Trim falling off, unusable awning, bent up bumper without a spare, a large hole going in wheel well that you can easily reach into the kitchen cabinets, gas leak detector that was completely disconnected, completely broken thermostat... The list goes on and on. The first thing Leon said when we first went in was that the water heater was broken and only works on has, not electric. Ok, fine, so not everything works. I ask of we can hook it up so I can check it out as it's being sold as-is so they agree to hookup a battery. Pretty much all this does is let me see that the lights work. So we decide to make an offer of $3500 as we will have to make ALOT of repairs. They came back with $4200 (including $399 doc fee, and half of a replacement awning) $4200 for this camper wouldn't to terrible if all the appliances, electric, plumbing, pumps, etc work. I ask if we can take it home, hook it up and see what all works and am told n "No, it's as is if you paid the asking price we'd check it out and clean it up blah ah blah." So we left. I called the next day to talk to the sales manager and never got a call back. Later that day I called Leon and told Leon of take the $4200 offer if we can hook up and fully check it out. He said "ok, we'll pull it up you can come back and go through it." I get her home from work and my wife gets a call saying "it's ready today, you should come look at it today because two people are coming to look at it tomorrow" so I go all the way back out there to find it's only hooked you to electric no water and that the battery pack was still needed to operate. I was told they don't have anyway to hook water up to it. After Leon went back saying "come in if you want it, otherwise I have two people coming to look at it tomorrow" I left.
I felt totally disrespected and like they didnt want me to know what all was wrong with it. I won't do business with them and I wouldn't recommend anyone else...
