I work 12 hrs shifts Monday through Friday and my significant other was insisting on going out to a nice dinner and a few cocktails, however I was extremely exhausted from work and cooking all week right after a 12 hr shift and I requested to watch a movie at my favorite low key movie theater The Lot. My boyfriend always has a habit of purchasing the tickets online and it makes it easy to show up and walk right up-to the line to scan the barcode, so as usual that’s exactly what we do, right before we get stopped by this person by the name of Tiffany, she stopped us as we were walking towards the front desk ticket stand and questioned our whereabouts. She asked us if we had tickets and we said it’s in our phone we are on our way to get the phone scanned, she looked at us as if we were trespassing into the cinema and she made me feel like we were lying about the tickets. So I asked her, will you scan our tickets? and she said no! Then I did answer back, then your not the person I need to speak with, she proceeded to follow us towards the line that we were waiting for, to patiently get scanned in and she was looking out our phones with this unbelief that we actually did pay for our tickets. I turned around and asked her why was she following us and that she was making me uncomfortable and she began to behave as if she was not purposely following us. She began speaking to this gentleman that was about to help me scan the phone and I told her she was not making me feel welcomed. Then the people in-front of the line had no clue what was happening but they automatically sided with this Tiffany person and they started to yell at me and my boyfriend. Tiffany did nothing to deflect the situation and she allowed this crowed of 4 people to yell at me, when they had no clue what was happening. I turned around and asked that crowd to stop their argument and mind their business. I walked away and instead of Tiffany stopping them from humiliating me and causing a scene she allowed it and just stood there, I had to turn back around and ask a male manager that was standing in-front of the ticket booth to please deflect the situation that this Tiffany lady had made my experience as a customer really uncomfortable and I’m a customer that lives 5 min away from The Lot. I had to vent with one of the order takers that was taking my food order and she said that Tiffany treats the employees there with the outmost disrespect and she felt scared of Tiffany. I felt, harassed, disrespect and humiliated that evening. I really need someone to reach out to me regarding...
Read moreUsually love The Lot and this location. My husband and I go at least once a month. Sometimes we buy food sometimes we don’t. Safe to say we have spent a lot of money at this location. Today was one of those days where we got tickets, and were not hungry. Additionally, I couldn’t have anything that they have due to a recent surgery but I needed water to take my medication. I went up to the concession stand to ask for a cup of water before going in for the movie. Today they told me they could not give me water if I was not buying something to which I told the staff that I was a customer and had movie tickets. I had no problem the day before (yes I went to the movies two nights in a row. Good movies out right now). They told me they could not give me water due to wasting plastic cups? I found this very weird that they couldn’t give a customer a cup of water???? McDonald's even has free water… restaurants in California give you free water upon request. Either the staff was lying which is horrible customer service or The Lot has this as a policy which I find is still not good customer service and should be changed. It was very dehuminazing and felt like I was begging for a cup of water??? Rubbed me the wrong way. Not being able to give customers tap water is crazy especially for a “nicer” movie theater experience. Ended up ordering water from my seat with no problem (the staff serving people at their seats were very nice) to take my medication but my husband and I will stick to AMC from now on. Call me crazy but I believe all humans should have access to water. First time I’ve ever been denied water in my life and the concession stand men didn’t...
Read moreRecently, my three students and I had the pleasure of enjoying the ultimate movie experience at The Lot, Fashion Island. I must say The Lot has now become our official reality-escaping home.
From the moment we walked in the lobby, we were greeted by a smiling greeter who guided us to the will-call desk. Less than thirty seconds later, with tickets in hand, we headed to the concession stand where we met Mr. Rayner Chi, General Manager. His warmth and attentiveness to our needs added more to the already welcoming and friendly atmosphere even before we entered the theater. The theater was clean. The air was fresh. The seemingly-new (and smelling good) leather recliners were so comfortable that we didn’t want to leave our seats. We ordered The Lot Chicken Tenders with truffle fries, Kobe Beef Sliders with sweet potato, Chocolate Flan and popcorn (We would have enjoyed the Pan Seared Salmon, Shrimp Penne Pasta Pomodoro, Tuna Poke Bowl had we not made a reservation at PF Chang’s). The cheerful servers placed our food on the tray before the preview started.
What sets The Lot apart from others is that wherever we looked – from the clean bathroom, to the impressive lounge area, to the theater, the perfect crowd size, The Lot delivers us with an experience that far exceeds our expectations. Everyone there did so with ease and smiles.
Whether you seek to unwind after a long day, or simply to spend quality time with family and friends while watching a good movie, delight in delicious dishes (and wine), The Lot...
