All 3 of these stars go to the boot fitters, they were fantastic, they were short a fitter that day so one guy was fitting me and someone else. He still took his time and did things right for both of us, explained everything and even provided a small discount for the inconvenience. Great boot fitting team all around.
Wish I could rate the rest of the shop lower, the service outside boot fitting was not good. Left my skis there to be adjusted for the new boots and a standard tune up on 10/20. I was told theyâd be ready in a week and a half. Didnât hear anything for 3 weeks so I called. The woman who answered was clearly annoyed and didnât want to be bothered to check on my skis, she then told me theyâd be ready in a day or two. Didnât hear anything those next couple days. Then Iâd then left on a vacation and called as soon as Iâd returned the Tuesday before thanksgiving and was told they were ready and to pick them up anytime (they never called to tell me). I went to pick them up the Sunday after thanksgiving. They pulled out my skis and had a hard time finding the new boot Iâd left for the adjustment. I wanted to see how my skis looked after the tune up, and saw the same dust from my garage on them. I asked if these were tuned and he confidently said no, and I said well they should have been. He put them in to be tuned the next day.
Nearly 6 weeks after dropping my skis off and nearly nothing was completed when I was told it was ready and after being told 1.5 weeks initially.. I understand itâs the busy season, but itâs not their first busy season, this should have been handled better. Disappointed. Will not be bringing my skis here again, because who knows when Iâll get them back, and if theyâll even do anything before trying returning them.. just glad...
Read moreItâs mixed feelings going into this shop. They have exellent boot fitters, I bought my pair of ski boots here, the boot fitter was very helpful although my small feet was a bit challenging to fit and the boot fitter was very patient and ask me a lot of questions making sure I was comfortable with it, I was satisfied with it.
The front desk and tune shop was a different story. I was told by the boot fitter that Iâll have a discount on adjusting the bindings since I got my boots new here. Today I went into the store, the guy took my boots and skis at the tune shop was disinterested in my questions regarding the discount, turned me to the front desk. Alright I guess itâs another case of âI donât care that much cuz I didnât take your orderâ. He took my skis, laying it against the edge of the desk, letting it to rub against the desk while it certainly wanted to fall. And whenever that happens every 3 seconds, heâd just quickly push it back with one hand, like playing a balancing game with it when there are a lot of racks to put on the skis just right behind him.
I turned to the front desk asking questions about the discount, the staff didnât know that but was nice enough to ask other employees. However, she then got back to me telling me to pay it without any explanations, letting you feel unwelcome.
By the way, it would take 2 weeks to do a basic cleanup and adjustment. Iâve done it in other shops that will finish it within just 3-4 days.
I would not try to save a bit of driving time and do my tuning here in the future. Ski monsters is doing much better...
Read moreI'm sad to give Boston Ski and Tennis a poor review because I think the store does a lot of things well and I had good interactions with the employees at the desk, but I've had such a headache dealing with them recently that I can't avoid it...
My girlfriend is new to tennis and I wanted to find her a racket that would fit her swing and be reasonable for a tennis newcomer. We paid to do a trial that would let us test different rackets as we were told we could use the credit from this purchase toward any new racket that we liked from the trial. Unfortunately two problems developed.. 1) they told us that there would be size 1 grips available in the future, which was not the case over 3 different trips we made to try new rackets and 2) they did not mention to us the first day that the credit only applied to new rackets, which are all over $200+, very steep for a new player.
We asked for a refund since we were never able to try any grip that would fit my girlfriends hand despite being told that size 1s would be available. We appreciated that we were offered a store credit by the manager, but this was fairly useless since we had no racket that fit to buy. The manager said he would get back to me about a refund but has ghosted me for the past month despite me following up with the store. I also found the way he spoke over the phone to also be rather disrespectful, which included speaking down to me and insinuating that I reserved a tennis racket with a 1 grip that he had on site (that we never were contacted about and was never there over the 3...
