Mercantile on Main St — Local services in Newtown

I found this shop about a month ago, just after it opened, and was so excited to see a new small business opening in the neighborhood! Even better- it is filled with treasures, all either made by women or from “women owned” businesses! I loved the clean interior and the overall feel of the owner’s style coming thru her shop! I bought candles (obsessed with the “Volcano” scent) earrings, a few soaps for gifts, and wanted more! Megan, the owner made me feel welcome immediately and we laughed when we realized we have the same name! I’ve since sent friends in who have purchased gifts and loved it as well. It’s also admirable that she’s keeping it simple and not paying tons of money for a website- forces you to actually “shop local!” Newtown needed this little treasure. Mercantile on Main is a beautiful and charming store. The candles are in gorgeous containers, burn clean, and smell amazing. The jewelry is unique, well-made, and stylish. The owner, Megan, is personable, helpful, and has exquisite taste. Cincinnati East-Siders would be wise to check Mercantile first, for all of their accessory and home-decor desires.
