Dairy Corner — Restaurant in Newtown

We will not be returning. We went with our toddlers on a 70° day. Our 5 year old took about 20sec to decide whether they wanted chocolate or vanilla and the seasoned worker was very impatient and snooty, as he tried to determine his choice. We did not feel welcome at all. Our icecream was melting before we even left the window and they wanted to charge us to have a cup and spoon for the melting icecream. Within 2 min, both our children were a mess, covered in their icecream and wanted to just throw their icecream away and walk across the street to UDF. Just moved to the area and heard rave reviews, but I found it just standard. Surprised they only had soft serve, and surprised they only use one window. It was decent ice cream. The lines are long and the guy at the counter seemed really overwhelmed. I brought visiting family when we went the first time and they were not impressed. I think it has potential, but they need to take some steps to increase efficiency. If they had hard ice cream I might go all the time. I am guessing the only reason people love it is because it's novel to walk down the street...

Have been going to Dairy Corner since the 1960's . Went last month, everything the same. Ordered today, the regular, vanilla dip top (chocolate hard shell) grabbed my napkins waiting for it to melt all over like usual. NOTHING! NOT ONE DRIP ! the ice cream is now yellow and Does Not melt!!! WHAT'S GOING ON? I have now waited 25 minutes since I ate the hard shell off and it has not melted one drip! I cannot eat this! I'm very sad to say after 60 years i will not be back! Also did not taste the same. Just edited its now been 45 minutes...
