Marrs has serviced numerous vintage watches for me and I’ve purchased jewelry, an 1880s clock, a 1911 Hamilton pocket watch and several bands. Watch bands are sold in metric widths, but the lugs on the vintage American watches are imperial. For instance, you have to put a 18mm band on a watch with 17.5mm lugs. When I’ve purchased a metal band, he always ground them down so they would fit. He did this without extra charge and you couldn’t tell where the band had been altered. He also did a wonderful job on repairing my grandfather’s Silver watch chain. The charges have been extremely reasonable and the work incredible. On this 1930s Wittnauer, for instance, the hands and hour markers were so yellowed that I thought they were supposed to be yellow. When I got the watch back, it was all snow white! He also gets the watches dialed in to where they keep near perfect time - as close as these mechanical watches can possibly get. I don’t think there is anywhere on earth you can get such a quality watch service for what Mr. Marrs charges. My son purchased the engagement ring for my soon-to-be daughter in law there and Mrs. Marrs was extremely helpful. I can’t recommend this store...
