I bought the new Nintendo Switch 2 from this Meijer, a Switch 2 Pro Controller, and a copy of Mario Kart World. I didn't realize I had purchased the bundle that came with Mario Kart World so I went to the store to return the physical copy of the game I purchased. I had my receipt and it was still sealed per their return policy.
"Tents, canopies, airbeds and electronic media – including but not limited to video games, DVDs and CDs – must be returned unopened. If defective and opened, only exchange for an identical item is permitted."
The manager, Tony, told me I could not return my game to their store as they don't accept these as returns stating that it is 'too easy to reseal them'. I called the customer service hotline to get clarification on this, but they dumped me into the store's service desk queue only to talk to the same person. No where is it stated either in-store or online that you cannot return video games except for the snippet above. I asked if I could take it to another Meijer store to get my refund and he said I could try. I did exactly that and the Findlay, OH store had no issues issuing my return. Thank you to the team there, clearly they didn't have a manager on a random...

Read moreI’ve been a loyal shopper here for the last couple years. I’ve always known to check expiration dates, as they aren’t very good about keeping up with expired products, but the one thing that’s always kept me loyal is they always had several real cashiers and opened more if need be. They recently installed many more self check outs and to my dismay have cut back on cashiers, only 2 each time I’ve went now, and they don’t open anymore. I’m so exceptionally disappointed. I don’t have time to be checking out my own very full cart, nor do I have time to wait in very long lines bc they don’t want to open another one. I have no choice but to switch. I have found that Chief now fulfills my expectations, including products not being expired which is great! I go out of town for needs other than groceries so any home goods at meijer never mattered to me much, as they are a bit...
