Super 8 by Wyndham Defiance — Hotel in Noble Township

Overall I have to give this place three stars. The prices is fair especially considering the rates being charged by other surrounding hotels in the town. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They get you checked it quickly and efficiently and even make solid recommendations on where in the parking lot to park based on where your room is and which entrance would be quicker and easier for you to access your room. While I was staying here they were in the middle of a remodeling process, so we expect a bit of a mess here and there. But I still question their decision to leave old removed toilet bowls lined up in the stairwells. Just gives an unsanitary vibe, especially when the work crews are leaving food trash ontop of or in them.

The beds are fairly comfortable though the pillows left much to be desired pretty much flat and fairly small over all. You need two pillows to equal one real pillow. The hotel does have an option of smoking and non smoking rooms which is a nice option for smokers. The cleaning staff though is were this hotel is really lacking and draging the hotels score down. My room had a dirty sock left behind from a previous guest behind the head board and up against the base of one bed was someone's dirty underwear left behind. The blanket on one bed had burn holes in it and a wierd stain on it. This reslly led me questioning if the blankets and sheets had been changed or washed between guests. One of the walls was dirty and needed scrubbing that was obvious.

For a room with 2 queen beds that's supposed to accommodate up to 4 people the room was stocked with only 2 bath towels. This just seems inadequate foe a room that can expect up...

I'm very unhappy with the Super 8 by Wyndham in Defiance, Ohio. We're currently staying here.

The in room phone is not only not connected but doesn't even have a cord to plug into the phone outlet in the wall. It's apparently only decoration. The bathroom light/fan sounds like it's going to fall out of the ceiling, and dust comes out of it when turned on. We were told when we checked in that this is a no smoking facility so it makes you wonder why the blanket on one of the beds in our room has at least 2 holes that appear to be from cigarette burns in it.

We mentioned these things to the front desk yesterday evening and nothing was done about any of it.

Even worse, though, is we returned to our room this evening, around 11pm. Before we left, we double-checked that the room door was closed and fully latched, as we noticed yesterday that it was not closing fully on its own. Well, when we returned, we found the door was not closed or latched. Fortunately, none of the items we'd left inside the room were missing. I immediately informed the front desk and got a "I'm so sorry this happened, but there's not really anything I can do about it."

I mentioned the things we let them know about yesterday and was told that the front desk person (from tonight) had put it under someone's door TONIGHT.

We will never be staying at this place again and will recommend to everyone we know not to stay...

Upon arrival we had to walk thru a cloud of cigarette smoke. Employees smoking. Then we were greeted with the over powering scent of curry and stale cigarette smoke even though this is supposed to be 100% non smoking. Upon entering our room, it was apparent we had stepped into an updated 1970s porn studio. Confirmed by the condom under the bed. We reserved a king suite. The picture and the actual product were nothing alike. The bathtub was cigarette burn stained everywhere. The toilet was clean somehow. The sink was cracked. The Jacuzzi tub had so many on off switches it took 3 days to figure out how to operate it. (NOT that we risked using it, mold everywhere). Carpet and tile were nasty with cigarette burns. Then the real fun started from midnight to 4 a.m. someone was out side with their radio on and bass thumping so loud it was vibrating the motel. This happened at random times the next 3 days. Then the cleaning lady went thru our bags. (Didn't have anything valuable) Then the icing on the cake, the day clerk refused to print my receipt out. Instead he told me I had to print it at home from my email. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! And if you do, you were warned. We travel for work and are used to low priced lodging, when I say never again, I mean never again!!! The only positive was the bed was clean. The pillows and mattress...
