I like this place. I really do. The ppl are nice and the service was great. They support the military as well. I was really having a good feeling about eating there. The dishes that comes out looks very inviting and fresh that other patrons have ordered. I see a family to my left, food looks awesome. I have a gentleman to my left, omelette looks so fresh. I get my food, and the first thought that comes to mind is, why my food doesn't look like everyone else's? So just to be cordial, I try it. The eggs are hard and brittle. The steak is so undercooked, or a really bad cut, that you could feel the tendons when cutting the steak. So yes, I was disappointed. Bc sitting down having breakfast is treat to myself. Bc I don't always have the time. So since my food had to be re-made the first time I went there. I didn't want to complain and have the same experience again. I stated my displeasure to a server. I said no thank you, I'm going to leave. The owner met me in the parking lot, and wanted me to come back in for a re-make. He did that the first time. I said no thank you, I'm out of time. I had to get to work. So of course he was not happy with my response, which I can understand. So I told him, I just will not return, and he said please do that. Do not come back! So overall I did not go to this restaurant, to not like my food, leave, get barred, or give a bad review. I just wanted a more pleasurable experience. I...

This is a family cafe tucked in a little shopping center on the south side of CR 210 in tony NW St. Johns county. We found this little gem via Google search for "family breakfast near me", and we're glad we made the drive to it.

We can't recommend this place highly enough. It's a much smaller-scale diner, family-style, without the hustle and bustle (read: crowds) of a larger diner. My partner and I were greeted immediately upon seating ourselves by a friendly server. My partner ordered his go-to corned beef and hash breakfast, while I went simpler with a lightly toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. My bagel was perfectly toasted, and his breakfast was prepared exactly as he requested. 100% butter was on the table when we arrived, which made him a very happy camper indeed, since some places no longer serve 100% butter (crazy, I know).

Bottom line: breakfast was great in every way, and we have a new breakfast choice in our arsenal when we visit this part of the county. Keep up the good work, guys, you've got two...

I came to the restaurant for the first time to talk to the owners and maybe enjoy a hot coffee. When I saw the menu and the prices I thought I would like to eat something. So many good choices and I settled for the Belgian waffle and sausage links. I already had eaten eggs earlier this morning but when I saw that they had Log Cabin syrup with NO High Fructose Corn Syrup, my mind was made up! The coffee was hot. Hannah, my server, did a great job! My food tasted fresh; and I learned that Mario, the owner, was the chef. The restaurant was going to close shortly after I left but I'm glad I bypassed Grumpy's with people waiting to get in for overpriced food and enjoy a local diner atmosphere instead. You have to make a date to visit this cafe'. The regulars sitting at the bar reminded me of the sitcom, Cheers, where everyone was friendly and helpful. Oh, and they served real butter too. No margarine crap! Way...

i must have passed by this industrial strip a million times on my way from Nocatee to 210/I95, and i never knew that there was an eatery in what looks like an industrial, car mechanic strip. This is truly a family owned vibe place that you would find in the heart of NYC or Chicago. mom is cooking while daughters and cousins wait and bus the tables. you can tell how good the food is by how incredibly packed this place is for breakfast/brunch on a Monday morning. Corned beef hash was cooked to perfection as i asked for it - extra crispy, along with the hash browns. everything was priced perfect at a steal. my only criticism (and the last star) would be for the pancake. ok, i'm a pancake snob, so sue me. i'm used to pancakes being uber fluffy with air - just a different preference comparing to Original Pancake House, or NYC. other than that, i found a new favorite breakfast place in town.

I found this nice little breakfast spot one day while having some work done on my car. Cafe Genovese is in a strip that houses some businesses right off County Rd. 210 not far from I95. The restaurant has a bit of an old school feel to it, with many pictures and decorations. I especially liked the old pictures of Yankee Stadium and some of the Yankees stars. I ordered simple breakfast - eggs, home fries, and toast. The home fries were the best I've had in Florida. The service was prompt, and the prices reasonable. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot in northern St Johns County, put Cafe Genovese on your list.
