The Amish House — Local services in Nolensville

My wife and I were in search of the perfect rocking chair for our home. We had seen one online that we liked - Grandma’s Rocker - carried by The Amish House in Nolensville, so we visited the store in May to check it out. Unfortunately they didn’t have a sample in-store at that time to see and try out, but we were assured we could order one and it would be made to our specifications.

We were a bit hesitant to order something sight unseen (and untried) but owner Kurt was able to walk us through the process, showing us comparable chairs in various wood and upholstery choices. His expertise (and patience) was extremely helpful and encouraging, so we decided to place an order.

Kurt advised us that it would probably take a little longer than usual due to the Coronavirus crisis, but he kept us informed of progress all along the way. And when it was delivered yesterday, my wife and I both agreed it was definitely well worth the wait!

We absolutely love our new rocker - it is so classic and beautifully made, and very comfortable to sit and rock in. In fact, we love it so much that we’ve already put in an order for another one!

We can’t say enough positives about The Amish House and the quality of their product, as well as the courtesy and assistance we received. We will undoubtedly be visiting their store again...

My wife and I visited The Amish House to buy a new bedroom set. My wife quickly found one that she had to have and we purchased it, while we were there my wife found a beautiful sideboard with a live edge top which presented a wonderful lighter contrast to the bottom of the dark cabinet. She loved it so much we purchased it as well. Kurt ordered us one with the same stain colors however when ours came in the live edge because of a different grain pattern did not present the same lighter contrast. This was just because the luck of the draw when it comes to how natural wood accepts stain. Needless to say my wife did not love the look. I contacted Kurt , we went back to his store and he offered to replace with a new piece, take it back for full refund or touch up the one she had seen on the floor and swap it out at no charge. My wife chose to take the one on the floor. Kurt touched up the little ding on the piece of furniture and delivered it to our home (2hours away) the following week. I ordered the Amish Heidi leg table, Amish Heidi extend a bench, and three Amish Gurnee chairs in quartersawn white oak with the natural stain. The craftsmanship of this fine dining room furniture set was professionally hand made. While I shopped on their website, I submitted a question about which dining room chairs they offered with extra lumbar support. I also wanted chairs that would match the Heidi leg table. I immediately received a response with several different chairs to choose from. Their website offers different types of wood options and stain for their furniture. Their website also explains the difference of each type of wood used in their furniture. Their delivery team called me and scheduled a delivery date with me. They deliver their furniture with a white glove treatment. Each piece of furniture was individually wrapped with a fitted blanket. I am very well pleased with my Amish hand built dining room set. It makes better sense to me to purchase high quality furniture built with real wood than with cheap made pressed wood that is sloppily made and will easily break.
