I was a loyal customer to Joanne. I brought a friend with me almost every time I went to get a pedi and mani. I went in there on a Saturday with my boss who is also Vietnamese , they weren't very busy. I told the man which is her brother that my nails had been breaking in less than a week. Like 2-3! So Joanne could not hear what I said so she asked the woman doing nails next to the man what I had said in Vietnamese. The woman responded and then Joanne responded "then what is she doing here?" When my boss explained what was going on I was upset and embarrassed. That's how you do it Joanne? You didn't 1. Care enough about my complaint to address it but we have sat there and talked about our personal lives 2. Offered no way to make the situation any better. I can be confrontational when I'm emotional so I decided I was going to leave without paying since clearly my business was not wanted or appreciated. Joanne chased me down over $20 dollars (all I had time for that day was the fill in and color) and would not stop yelling at me in the parking lot. I tried to explain that I was upset with the entire situation and the service I received but she was so pressed over $20 that I just gave her the money and said I'd never be back. Now I go to another nail salon and granted its farther from my house but they have been so nice and caring that I don't mind the $80 I spend there for nails plus tip because I explained what happened here. They even speak in English only when I am there just to make me feel comfortable . I haven't had any broken nails or bad paint jobs since I've...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJoann* and her staff, including my favorite pedicurist Jan, are all top-notch. Joann has been taking care of my nails and more for over 15 years, and I wouldn't trade her for anyone else! I'm not sure what might have happened during the instances that caused the one-star reviews, but I can assure anyone asking that they are not the norm, and they likely resulted from one-off misunderstandings. She cares about all of her customers, and she will do anything in her power to give you what you want, as long as it's possible ;) [If you're going to walk out without paying and then get upset she follows you out the door to ask you to pay, remember she's performed a service you requested. If you don't pay, that's THEFT of services, and not grounds for a one-star review...] Anyway, back to my review :) Joann and her staff stay up on the latest trends and colors, so you don't have to. They'll remember your favorite colors and suggest great new ones. I'm not kidding when I say I get compliments several times a week on my nails, even when they're a week or two old, and that's all thanks to Joann! *yes our names are spelled similarly, but I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a longtime customer at Nails by Joann, and it is shocking when I read some of the ābadā reviews. I think all businesses are NOT for everyone as all customers are NOT for certain businesses. The one thing I can attest to - is this establish gives great good customer service and yes, longtime customers pay the same as everyone else perhaps we tip more but when prices go up, we know in advance so we will know the next time we come in that itās now more.
And as for not having cash ā itās a nail salonā¦.come on. Grant it I donāt always carry cash, but I always know when I am going to the nail salon, so I carry cash because any woman that has been getting her nails done for any period knows how these businesses operate.
Finally, to say the staff does not like black people is so wrong ā maybe they donāt like you. This shop has one of the most diverse clientele you will find. I think customers have every right to complain about the service they receive but if a customerās reviews are all complaints perhaps you are the common...
