El Indio Restaurant Y Taqueria — Restaurant in Norcross

The food is good but cashiers could use some serious customer service training. When we arrived at the restaurant to pick up our food the girls were all surrounding one of their coworkers phone tryna be en el chisme. Im assuming the chisme was so good they weren’t even paying attention to what they charged me and handed out the wrong bag. We assumed we got the right order since they had charged us AT THE RESTAURANT CORRECTLY. But when we opened our bags they gave us the WRONG ITEMS. That’s fine we’re human we’re allowed to have fun at work and make mistakes, but what we not gonna do is turn around and say it was our fault for taking the wrong order when you handed it to us. It’s your job to make sure you’re giving out the right things to the right people especially if the customer took the time to call ahead. *Update they took back the wrong order they had given us at first and I don’t know if they handed this same order to the other person without them knowing what had happened but if this happened today idk what guarantee’s me they won’t do it to...

I've been here before and never had any problems with their food or service. But on my most recent visit 6/2/18, I was not happy. I had already placed my order for 4tacos over the phone & was told it'd be ready in 5min. That's was good news for me since I was already near. It wasn't a busy night so there was plenty of parking. As soon as I walked in the place was dirty. Food was left on tables, napkins everywhere and their floor looked as if it haven't been swept or mopped in days. I was a little bothered, but my order was to go so I didn't care as much. My order was ready once I got there, they provided me with salsa and napkins, everything else like the cilantro/onion/lime/carrots + radish was already in the tray. I drove off and went home. I ate the 1st taco and it was so good. But once I bit into my 2nd taco, i felt a really large, metal object - it was a screw/bolt!!!!! I immediately drove back and showed the same cashier that checked me out what was in my food. She offered me a new order of tacos, but I simply requested my money back instead. If you've ever been to Mexico, you know the best food is found in hole in the walls, and Ma and Pa small restaurants. When I first got my new job and was over near Norcross, I ordered something that was new to me, birrea tacos. I'd heard some chatter about them but never been to a Mexican restaurant that specializes in them.

So, this restaurant popped up in my door dash options. I haven't had the opportunity to actually check out the restaurant, because my schedule shifted. When I got these through doordash, I couldn't believe how good they were. I automatically thought higher end restaurants would have BETTER birrea tacos than a small no frills restaurant. WRONG. These still are the best, and I've tried half a dozen versions.

The food: the birrea tacos were pipping hot, crispy on the outside, fully melted cheese with shredded beef, onions and cilantro. It's also served with piping hot consumè for dipping. Everything is on point. They have many versions of birrea not just tacos and other Mexican delicacies. Proof this is authentic Mexican: most of the sit down cutomers were of Hispanic origin.
