I am beyond disappointed with the customer service at this store, specifically from the manager, Lashelle Hyatt. Today, I attempted to purchase an item that was clearly on the shelf, yet it wouldnât ring up. Instead of resolving the issue, the manager told me she couldnât sell it to me. This was extremely frustrating because my husband had purchased the exact same product at this same store just six hours earlier.
When I questioned this, the situation escalated unnecessarily. Rather than trying to help, the manager started screaming at me in front of other customers and then refused to ring me out entirely. Her exact words were that, as the manager, she had âno power to sell me items in her store.â That statement alone is absurdâhow does a store manager have no authority to resolve a simple pricing issue?
This is not an isolated incident. Just three days ago, I was in line and watched her deliberately avoid helping customers for 15 minutes, even going so far as to knock on the bathroom door to get a cashier instead of doing her job. Her attitude and behavior demonstrate zero customer service skills, which is completely unacceptable for someone in a management role.
I have been a loyal Aldi customer and shop here daily, but after this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhereâlikely Walmart. If Aldi cares about its customers, this situation needs to be addressed immediately.
Edit to add: they are claiming the item couldnât be sold because it wouldnât ring up correctly and that it would be illegal to sell the item if it doesnât ring up due to it being an alcohol item. There is literally no federal or state law that prohibits the sale of alcohol if you have a system glitch. You just have to track...
Read moreBeing a German American who went to Aldi's in Germany before they ever came to the US. I couldn't be happier. Most people don't know the chocolate comes from Germany at same price they sell it there. The pesto from Italy, the olive oil from Spain at decent prices. Some people don't like their limited choices, I love it. They have named brand pop tarts my husband & BFF both perfer Aldi's brand (plus 40% cheaper) it has more filling. We did a blind taste test of A1 compared to Aldi's brand steak sauce, couldn't tell the difference, almost 60% cheaper. Their paper plates much sturdier then Dixie brand. Some people don't like you have to put a quarter the cart to get it but you get it back when you return it, which means they keep prices lower not hiring a cart person plus I like knowing I won't have a run away cart hitting my car or needlessly taking up a parking space. They encourage you to bring your own bag or you can buy them at checkout. I like packing my own stuff too, put all the cold stuff in a cooler bag, & you can also use the cardboard containers their food comes in for free. I absolutely love đ Aldi's, I love their products, their price & just the way they do things. Plus every November they have a lot more German products & sweets, the Germans in Norman let each other know when it comes in. I stock up on Christmas cookies, marzipan, & red cabbage you can't find...
Read moreAldi is on Classen Blvd in Norman. It is next door to Wendyâs. Aldi Norman is a very clean store. I go on Sundays at noon before the crowd. There is ample parking. Aldi is small grocery store with basic produce and food items, as well as gourmet cheeses, deli meets and regular fresh and frozen poultry, beef and fish. NOTE: you MUST MUST MUST KNOW: BRING your reusable SHOPPING BAGS and a QUARTER to get your cart. See my photo on how to get your grocery cart with the quarter. You simply put a quarter in the slot, which unlocks the cart by easily pulling the red key out. Do not be intimidated, it is not complex. When you are through using your cart put it in place with the other carts, insert the red key, press it in, and your quarter will release! Aldi is know for low prices, this the bring your reusable grocery bag and paying for your cart. I truly love shopping at Aldi Norman. It is a pleasant no fuss, NO crowds, and no large long, long isles to navigate. Aldi has the basics without having 100 varieties of something. For example, there are not 30 varieties of canned green beans there will be one or two varieties at Aldi. If you dread navigating isles of choices you will find Aldi a pleasant less overwhelming grocery experience. Five...
