I had bought a wedding dress a few years ago and it was too large for me. Fast forward, I went to my seamstress for alterations and found out nothing can be done because it is too small and not enough seam allowance to let it out.
We had an appointment in the afternoon, but after the disappointing news from the seamstress, we decided to arrive early and look around. If they could take us great, if not we were happy to wait our turn.
We arrived and Maria greeted us. She gave me 7 pins to choose the ones I liked the most and wanted to try on. The amount of dresses they have in all sizes and styles was reassuring for this bride who now 5.5 months out, did not have a dress. (Also, they have new dresses as well as gently loved by previous brides)
Maria was kind, helpful and most importantly, patient. Once I tried on the 7, she brought out 2 of which she thought I might like (I do not like my chest/arm area), sadly they didn't work and I started to get upset and frustrated. But with another quick round of dresses her and my mother picked, dress number 10 was the winner!
We are going to be consigning the dress that no longer fits and a add it to their beautiful collection for another bride-to-be to wear.
If I didn't know about it - I would not have know the shop was where it was. It was also very clean as well.
So happy to have gotten my...
Read moreI visited the shop last week to find my wedding dress and had the pleasure of being paired with Jane. She was nice, patient, and knowledgeable. She built rapport early on and made me feel comfortable. She asked me a lot of questions to help select dresses within my style and my budget. By the end of the appointment, I found my dress and it was one that Jane selected for me. I have nothing negative to say about her.
I do wish that my dressing room had a full length mirror. I had no idea how the dress looked on me before going out and showing it to my family and because of the layout, I saw their reactions before I saw myself in the mirror. This prevented me from making my own opinion first.
Additionally, this was my first time wedding dress shopping and I drove in from RI because I was not willing to spend thousands on a wedding dress. I hoped to spend under 1k, but I did find however, that the majority of the dresses were over 1k, so keep that in mind. They are discounted at about 30% off retail, which was less than I assumed before arriving. I did have to spend 1250 to get the dress I liked but overall I am happy with my experience and would...
Read moreEveryone was super kind and helpful. The ladies at the shop clearly knew their stuff concerning alterations and bustling and didnât just clip the dress to make it fit you, but would show you how it might actually fit after alterations. They were the perfect balance of helpful without being pushy too which is a breath of fresh air! It was so much fun to be able to go and look through the racks of dresses myself, and choose styles for myself, which was not an option at other stores. It meant I tried on things that caught my eye which werenât styles I had considered before-and I ultimately chose one of those âunexpectedâ styles which was fun! They were also incredibly kind to my sister who is fully blind and brought her guide dog. Other bridal salons ignored my sister entirely, but Consignment Bridal and Prom included her in the whole process and brought her over to me to let her feel the dresses I tried on and would describe the details to her that werenât tactile. It was hands down the most fun I had shopping for a dress and it was nice to be able to take a dress home with me that day which needed almost no...
