If there was a pizza in Massachusetts that could be the best, Garlic Breath Pizza is for sure in the conversation.
Walking in I was greeted by the owner/operator who come to find out also owns a coffee shop, I was excited before I even got my Pizza after that. I sat in one of the open tables that is right out of my childhood pizza shop.
The decor in there is a vibe of yester-year that I really appreciate, wood panels on the wall, checker floor and a stand up arcade game in the corner. It's almost like, if I opened a shop today how I would put it together, the oven is electric but from the pizza I consumed, you could've fooled me thinking brick oven or wood fired. Just check out that bottom of the slice! Zero flop holding the slice up without the fold, with the fold it's perfect. Sauce to cheese ratio is perfect, the dough is crispy but still has a slight chew, the perfect amount of great pepperoni. I had the intention of eating the entire pizza, but I put some self control on and took three slices away with me, and a cookie that I wish I had gotten 4 of. I am afraid of Portnoy going here and I'll have trouble getting a pie again 😂 truly a spectacular experience. Pizza is a really solid 9.5 The flavor overwhelmed my taste buds. I will be...
Read moreI was so excited to try. I love thin crust and a huge fan of pepperoni pizza w hot honey and the homemade spicy banana peppers sounded amazing. It was good, if this is their normal, then not for me. I also got a sausage mushroom pizza and have to say the sausage might be the best I've ever had on a pizza. Mushrooms sliced paper thin, were eh. Now for where it all seemed wrong, the crust. It was not thin, not thick and upper layer kind of dense. It was thicker than I prefer for thin crust and it had a weird chew. I think this is what threw the whole pizza off. Maybe was an off day and I'll definitely try one more time because I enjoyed the toppings. It's the first time I can remember in over a decade I threw out the leftovers. Meatballs are delicious!!! Which they would not have given us at pickup if the Mr didn't remember because they only gave him the pizzas. Not a big deal, but I up charged for ranch dressing and they didn't put it in the order too. So service definitely was...
Read moreHaving grown up on Long Island and lived the past 25+ years north of Boston, I've had the option of getting decent "Greek-style" pizzas or flatbread pizza (e.g., Flatbread) ...which are okay, but not true NY pizza. That is until I discovered Garlic Breath in N. Andover. The tiny shop doesn't do fancy pizzas or offer items like french fries, subs, or burgers. Nope. This is the place you go for REALLY good, crispy plain cheese, onion, or pepperoni pizzas. Unless you want a side salad or delicious homemade meatballs, Garlic Breath specializes in one thing: AWESOME PIZZA! The owner decorated the shop in a cool '80s theme with a video game, action figures, and old movie posters. Great vibe and outstanding pizza! Try it tonight! You'll think you're eating your folded...
