Eastern Shed installed our 16x9 Gambrel style shed about a year ago now. My report from the ordering process, continued check-ins from them and a year of ownership is all positive. The shed still looks brand new. During the shopping process we evaluated sheds from the guys up in NH, the box stores and even looked in to kits. I have no regrets with our choice. We didn’t have the time or skillset to work the kits properly, the box stores are exactly what the other guys commercials say "fall-a-particle board" and not very cheap either. We found that Eastern Shed construction and materials are the same as the guys up north but more competitively priced, the reviews were good so we went with them. The Process: They walk you through your options and you place your order. We opted for the increased ceiling height and the loft which came in real handy for storing longer lumber (vertically down one side) and the patio furniture a few days ago. A short time later they schedule an exact install date We had a gravel pad installed prior to the shed install date On the scheduled day some trucks with trailers show up with all of the wall sections complete and they build your shed on your designated site. It was completed in a single day. Things I did: We had the pad installed as I said before We painted the inside of the shed with white exterior wall paint about six months after install because its in a damp area. I used a sprayer and there is now some overspray on the front wall vinyl siding where the spray drifted out of the doors so, lesson learned, use a brush next time or mask the wall... We painted the doors and inside door frame with exterior white to seal them I used a deck coat on the floor of the shed to protect it from moisture and whatever ends up in there from the gear stored in there Things Eastern did: Checked in with me every few months to ensure that all was well Installed diamond plate kick plates at the base of the doors when I mentioned that I saw a gap between the bottom of the door. I didn’t ask them to do this but they wanted to ensure that I was satisfied. That’s how you do customer service correctly btw… To sum it up: This was a pain free, cost competitive, quality solution for our storage space/ shed needs that came with excellent customer service. They back up their products which means that they have confidence in their products. No regrets love, the shed and received no compensation in any way for...
Read moreI don't know where to begin with this company! We had our shed built by Eastern Shed too many years ago to recall (maybe 15) and long before Google reviews or this would be my second rave review for this company. They were amazing then, and they're amazing now. Here's the story...I have been trying to figure out how to move my shed so it would no longer straddle the property line. After several failed attempts, I finally called Eastern Shed because they built it, and I thought maybe they could direct me to a shed mover. They move sheds! They worked me into the schedule, which can't be easy since these guys are seriously busy. First, I spoke with Krissie in the office who was unbelievably helpful and delightful (as well as another really great rep early in the process - sorry, I can't remember his name!). Then I spoke with the owner, Kevin, who was an absolute joy to deal with and worked out the best day to send his crew. I can't say enough about Kevin's communication throughout this process. Then there was the CREW!!!! First, there was Tim, the 23 year Eastern Shed veteran, who is capable, experienced, humorous and chill. After he had rolled the shed 10 feet forward and leveled it in humid, buggy conditions, he then fixed the doors that had settled after all these years. That was an unplanned, very appreciated extra, which was not part of this project, but I am SO impressed that he even cared that the doors weren't perfect. Wow. Seriously. Then there was Tim's new trainee Alex, who was doing a great job of assisting and who couldn't have been any nicer to have on this project, nor could he have been more polite the entire time he was at our house. This was an all around positive experience. I HIGHLY recommend Eastern Shed Company either for building your shed or moving your existing one; you...
Read moreExcellent shed. Great company to work with. I did a lot of shopping around but looked most closely at Eastern Shed and Reeds Ferry. I found them to be very quality comparable. I live 2 hours north of Boston, ordered the shed in September and it was installed yesterday. They could have installed it earlier but the ground was too wet/muddy. I bought a large 16x24' Aspen with most options. They build all the walls at the factory, so a 24' wall was about all 5 guys that had come could handle.
The shed is all 2x4 construction except for the floor. On a 16' wide shed the floor is 2x8 pressure treated. There is no press board anywhere. All sheet rock The floor is solid. I could park a truck on it. The framing job was excellent. Everything lined up perfectly. Even the quality of the 2x4s is evident...much better than home depot quality.
The installers were efficient, friendly, professional and all business. They arrived about 7 am (meaning they had to leave their office around 5:30) and left at 3pm.
What impressed me the most is that we ordered a flower box for one of the windows that was supposed to be 24x30. They accidentally put in a 30x36 which looks much nicer but which was too wide for the flower box they brought. Also the vinyl corners were about about an inch too short. Today they had a guy drive one hour forty minutes (from Methuen MA) to install the 30" flower box and new vinyl corners. I didn't think I'd see them back until Spring.
I've send some pictures to friends and family, all very impressed with how nice it looks. We couldn't be...
