My wife requires a common low cost supplemental medication that comes from a mail order supplier every 3 months. This month the mail order supplier failed to deliver on time. With her 3 month supply exhausted and no more medication, she did not want to skip treatment. It should be noted that her supplier emailed her on Friday, 12/6/24, that the order had been shipped. With no medication for tomorrow, 12 December 2024, she contacted her PCP who authorized another 1 month supply. I get my medication at this North Attleboro CVS, store 938, so she had the order put through there. When she got to the pharmacy, she was referred to the pharmacist who denied the Rx because of insurance co. payment policies. I have always thought that one of the main functions of a pharmacist is to dispense medication as ordered, provided it is a legal and proper Rx. This pharmacist came over with a clear angry and dismissive demeanor, and rudely denied her the legally authorized Rx made by her duly Massachusetts licensed PCP. Fearing no medication for tomorrow, she pleaded for at least 2 pills, which the pharmacist granted, selling them for $13.99, about the price of a 30 tablet bottle. This was a demeaning and unsatisfactory experience.
Pharmacists are supposed to serve, not dictate and over-ride the appropriate and legal orders of a duly licensed physician. Insurance company coverage is one thing, supplying medications as Rx’d is something entirely different. Insurance companies don’t prescribe medications. They may choose to deny payment, but it is the medical practitioner that dictates what is to be used and dispensed. It so happens that the cash price of this medication is minimal and less than some OTC products. The entire experience was demeaning and that level of rudeness will be remembered. It so happens that my wife works in a specialty realm of healthcare and has decades of experience with both patients and...
Read moreMANAGER, MIKE is the rudest person! Making a purchase and as I approached the associate, I told her what I had on my app as far as discounts, money and coupons. I also told her I had a coupon in the car and SHE SAID I COULD USE it with what was already on the app and she would wait why I retrieved it. Once she had the other coupon she had a hard time entering. Tried numerous x's. Called for assistance and another associate came. Told her the story and she tried numerous x's then called manager MIKE! Mike looked at everything and in FRONT OF ALL THE OTHER CUSTOMERS, looked at me and said loudly YOU CAN"T USE TWO COUPONS. I proceeded to explain I asked the associate first and she told me we could and waited for me to get the coupon. The last associate that was helping apologized for HIS BEHAVIOR. I WILL NEVER go to that store again. I have posted this on numerous platforms! CVS YOUR LOSS! MIKE OBVIOUSLY HAS ISSUES AND DOESN"T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS! VERY...
Read moreI made a point to ask for the pharmacy staff member’s name. Shayna (spelling?) was phenomenal. It is not an exaggeration to say that unequivocally whoever hired this woman deserves a pat on the back! I came in the drive through window after being at the hospital for most of the day. My medication that is a daily necessity ran out. It was 10p and I had just learned my insurance was having issues. She did her best to investigate and when it still wasn’t coming up right she pulled a supervisor to pull up a GoodRX coupon code when she saw the desperation in my face after I told her I haven’t been able to take it for 3 days. AND the entire time she was communicative and delightful (but not delightful in a disingenuous way). I mean this with all seriousness give this girl a raise and have her train your staff! AND AT 10p TOO! Rarely do you see someone on a night...
