Ashworth's Market & Deli — Local services in North Bend

This store has been around since the beginning of time. It's always been my first stop as I come into North Bend/ Coos Bay Or. As a kid I grew up just down the street and bought my penny candy there with .y cousin's and sister. The employees have always been welcoming and inviting and all around FANTASTIC. They have a super great variety of merchandise from fishing lures to hand scooped ice cream cones. The deli food is always fresh and if it's kinda old they sell it at a close to free price. The drink cooler is the coldest in town and some to navigate through to get what you're after. It just feels comfortable and like you're visiting your best buddies place. Thank you Ashworths's for the memories made and the memories to come in the future. I don’t’ know why I keep stopping here. It’s close, but it’s inconvenient. The only easy way out of the parking lot is to go north out of town, but that’s not the direction I’m going. I’m going to work and work is south. Why do I keep doing this? This is literally the most dangerous intersection in town. People on 101 do not slow down for anything. God help you if you’re on foot. Hot food is good. People are friendly. Beer selection is on point. Definitely worth it.

Update: 6 years later and i don't live close by anymore, but on the rare occasion when i drive north over the bridge i see this place just after that weird pink building with the odd backstory. We come to Coos Bay 8 times a year. Every time We stop here and get ice cream at least 3 out of the 5 nights.. But tonight I was totally disgusted and walked out. I stood there and watched one of their tall male employees mop the floor. He asked if we would like some ice cream. He went over picked up 2 gloves used his dirty hands to put on both pairs of his gloves. My friend ordered ice cream and I almost threw up. This employee used his dirty gloves to touch the cone and a spoon to hand him. This was one of the most disturbing things...
