We went in looking for a new mattress for us and and new bed for our son, our initial experience was fantastic. We were in the process of closing on our house and concerned the purchase would hurt that, and you guys worked with us in holding off the financing portion till after our house purchase was complete. We were so excited to get our items and totally happy with the service we had.... until something went wrong. The mattress we received was nothing like what we tested on the showroom. We tested this mattress several times on multiple days and what we received felt like we were laying on the floor. We were not happy but sometimes things happen, we contacted you guys within about an hour of the bed being delivered. We were told to wait till the next day try it out and we would get a call in the morning to see if we were still unsatisfied. It was a horrendous nights sleep for me and the following day we did not receive a call back until 6pm when you guys CLOSE! We made the decision to just go in the next day and find a different mattress which is what we did. Unfortunately the only mattress we could agree on was the original mattress we liked, we were told we could have that floor model and woohoo it would save us a whole $100. If you didn't pick up on my sarcasm there let me be clear, it was a bit of a slap in the face. Then to top that off it would be almost a week before we could have it delivered. This was not a mistake on our part this was an issue with the store or manufacturer and yet we have to keep a mattress we hate and causes me back pain for an entire week. This is just unacceptable to me. We have bought several things from you guys in the past and our last purchase we raved about your customer service. Unfortunately it would seem that the positive experience only extends to those who don't have an issue with their orders. For those of us unlucky enough to have a problem arise there seems to be a drastic shortage on customer service and making sure the customer is satisfied. And by the way, when we went back in to find another mattress we were told we weren't the only customers that week to complain about the mattress not being what they had tested on the...
Read moreI’ve purchased at Engles multiple times. The furniture is beautiful, as is the quality. My experience with the salesperson was also unfailingly excellent. The employees who delivered my furniture, always a pleasure to deal with. Always good natured. Always very careful. My recent interaction with a manager as I attempted to resolve a very simple issue...has ensured I won’t be making another purchase there. He became frustrated when I asked to be taken off a mailing list for the Engles ads, as they went to an incorrect address ...a second time...and was creating a privacy issue for me. He said it had nothing to do with Engles, that it came from a private advertiser with a rented shared mailing address list. That he had no way to contact this independent advertiser who for some reason sent out Engles ads...with their Northbend store address on it. I tried to clarify why someone else would be sending out Engles ads without being connected to Engles, ...and he then became sarcastic, flippant and condescending. I told him that he didn’t need to be condescending. He then blamed me for his frustration, thus justifying his condescension. I simply turned and left. He wasn’t worth subjecting myself to. I understand that he’s bored with his job, and that he’s tired of his job, and I was an available customer that he could take his frustration out on. Possibly because I’m older he believed it was acceptable to treat me as less. Reciprocal respect, sincere friendliness and courtesy were what I’d always experienced before at Engles. Without fail. I’ve sent friends and neighbors to them. This surprising interaction was incredibly disappointing after spending a significant amount of money with them. He left a VM later, the verbiage again putting blame on me for the interaction, while at the same time attempting to correct his blunder. Projection. Maybe he’ll gain maturity as time goes on. I’ll go back to my previous furniture dealer in another town should I need to make...
Read moreI bought my recliner a couple of years ago. But I have been spurred into making a further review based on recent happenings. Last Friday morning, I strained my back trying to lift a bunch of heavy dog food. ( I do realize now that that was not an intelligent thing for a 69-year-old woman with existing back issues to attempt.) Anyway, as a result of that injury, I have been utilizing the recliner I bought at Engle's constantly. The massage function is one of the few things other than a shower and ibuprofen that helps with the pain. But, my review is not just about how wonderful my recliner is, and has been these past 2 years. I also wanted to voice my appreciation for the fact that Engle's maintains a storefront. If not for that, I'd never would have ended up with my recliner, I'm pretty sure. However, when I went into the store to look for a gaming table, I checked out the recliners. The one I ended up buying was amazing from the first time I sat down in it. So, the bottom line (of what I realize is a very long and tedious review) is that I appreciate so very much having an actual physical store in which I can shop more effectively. For the past 22 years, Engle's has been my go-to for furniture and furnishings. And I have always found both their products and customer service to be excellent. I highly recommend them, and I encourage people to check out their wonderful store. You might surprise yourself and find something amazing, like I did. Thank...
