If I could give zero or negative stars, I would - there is no rating too low to adequately explain just how terrible Macyâs has been following our purchase of a sectional and recliner. We made our purchase on Oct. 14 of an in-stock recliner and sectional in a color that needed to be custom built. For that reason, Macyâs said theyâd hold off on delivering everything until the sectional was ready. Fast forward to Dec. 4 and the delivery was scheduled for 9:45-11:45 a.m. and assurances that someone would call when the truck was within 30 minutes of our apartment. Called at 11:45 and they said itâd be more like 12:45-1:45 p.m. and that someone shouldâve called to communicate the delay to us. Still nothing at 1:45 p.m. so we called again and were told that our furniture was delivered and signed for (it was not). For the hassle of hours-late delivery, non-existent external communication and faulty internal record-keeping (telling us itâd been delivered and signed for), we successfully argued that our $200 delivery charge should be refunded. The delivery arrived at 2:30 p.m. without the 30 minute warning and the wrong color recliner in tow. The âwhite glove serviceâ did not have scissors with them, needed to borrow them, and then promptly drove off with the brand new pair from our knife set. The soonest they could reschedule the delivery was a week later and for all of the hassle, we were told they could do no better than the delivery fees. This was completely unacceptable and after another round of complaints and threatening to cancel the order, they finally agreed to 10% off the purchase price. Fast forward to a week later and the second delivery date - the same delivery crew returned, and could be seen shaking their heads at the back of the truck upon arrival. They called, stating, âyouâre never going to believe this - they sent us with the wrong recliner again.â Again in a holding pattern, with customer service âassuringâ us that âthis has never happened before.â Macyâs has proven to be completely inept and unable to follow even the simplest instructions, as the packing slip that we had to refuse delivery on the first time had the correct color listed, and this is gray vs. brown - not varying similar shades of a color. Customer service has told us no fewer than four times that they would call us back within a given time frame and has failed to do so each and every time. The Macyâs name used to mean something good - now it means a company that I would never...
Read moreIf i could give 0 stars I would. This place is AWFUL and our experience has been horrendous so far. My husband and I went in to buy a new couch a few weeks ago. We were assisted by Naresh who initially was helpful but as the sale progressed, it became obvious that he just wanted our money and to close the deal. He was super pushy, hovering over us, interrupting my Husband and I and wouldnât let us simply just browse. He eventually roped us into buying a couch that he assured was ânew and in stockâ yet after we signed the paperwork he said that a piece from the sectional wasnât in stock and the delivery date would be 4+ weeks away. A few weeks later we received a text message from our salesperson saying the piece was in and that we could set up the delivery. We picked a date and were told that weâd receive an email or call from delivery service giving us a time window for delivery. The day before delivery was more than halfway over and we hadnât heard anything, so we reached out to Naresh for assistance. He tells us that heâs off, so to call the store and have someone else help us.(donât you think youâd check in with your customer before you were off to confirm delivery details???) Then he proceeds to ask us if our building requires a COI, which it does, but we wouldnât have known unless asked. He tells us that we have to cancel the delivery because it takes 72 hours to process the COI. Again, We would have had no idea that this was a requirement so this question should have been asked way in advance. Donât you think the sales person would have enough sense to ask this question, if this is what he does for a living? All of this communication was via text i might add. God forbid someone pick up the phone and give us a call to figure the situation out. To top it off, i called the store and whoever i spoke to was so extremely rude. Iâve never been spoken to in such a way by a sales agent l, especially when we just spent 3k+ on a couch. Shameful. iâd never, ever spend my money at this...
Read moreworst store to buy anything from Rt1 Macy's. I have really bad experience with them. I bought a rug with them which had a little green tag on it. Nobody explain me that green tag is non returnable iteam. Sales guy just ask me to sign three diff places and didnt bother to explain what it means.
i wanted to return it within 12 hours of buying. I was on call with customer care for 2 hours. Customer care wanted me to talk with store sales manager and Store sales manager wanted me to talk with customer care. it was so frustrating. They dont even care if customer is with macy's for last few years and bough thousands of dollar of merchandise with Macy's in past.
Customre care representative told me she can help me cancel $3000 sofa which is going to deleiver this week if i want but there is nothing anyone can do about this $350 rug.
I am in middle of buying furniture for whole house and i am already done with Macy's. I have to start over my furniture buying from somewhere. I will find out how can i return Sofa i bought from them.
