I really wished I read the reviews before buying from this place. I just saw the ratings and it’s near my apartment. The sales lady that helped us out was Matilda. She was helpful and entertained my daughter so I can look around and I appreciated it. I found a bed I liked and paid in full. After paying i realized I didn’t asked how long would it take to be delivered, since we just moved in apartment we need a bed asap,Matilda said about a week. I purchased the mattress on December 26. After the new years passed i called on a Wednesday and was told they will call me back the next day because the warehouse is closed already. They didn’t call me back so I called again on Friday around 5 pm and was told that the warehouse is closed already and isn’t open on the weekends and will contact on Monday. This trend continued I would call and will be told they call me back and they don’t. How hard is it to get a delivery date? At this point I am frustrated so I told my husband to call for me. So, he did call yesterday and was told the same thing and that they would call first thing the next morning. I ended up calling them around 11 and was told that on their end it shows the mattress was delivered to them but they do not have it. But the manager will call the warehouse to see what is going on and will call me back in an hour. At 1:57 pm I called because I didn’t get a call back. I asked for the manager and was told the manager isn’t in on Fridays. And he didn’t respond back to Matilda. My problem is that this isn’t the first time I called and was told they will call the warehouse, why is it that they just realized they do not have the mattress? At the end of the day all I wanted was a delivery date so I can be home. We’ve been without a bed since before December 26. At this point I asked for a refund and reassured that the manager will be in tomorrow and notified that I want a refund. I feel like i...

As I sit in their parking lot after being told now by another “employee” the manager who is suppose to be processing my refund is not in today after I was told twice he would be here. I gave my honest opinion on my first experience with this establishment and how great my sales woman was BUT now interms of communication and the customer service I have not been getting is beyond me. I’m giving this place until tomorrow to resolve this issue and reach out to me before I leave my final full review of my second purchase with Payless furniture North Brunswick.
First time buyer here! Recently purchased a sectional at this establishment.There is a huge selection availble to be viewed in the gallery which is beautifullllll, but there is even MORE on their website. My partner and I were greeted by Matilda upon arrival, she asked if we needed help and told us where she would if we had any questions. We walked around browsed the gallery privately without any judgement or pushy sales representive. It was a comfortable smooth transaction, unlike other stores where you are followed around and persuaded into furniture you are not interested in. This place is respectable and honest, not to mention the prices are affordable. I have seen many reviews praising this store and now I see why,. I'm currently going based on what I have experienced with the ordering and purchase process which was quick easy and straight foward thanks to Matilda. I'll be getting my high end pieces from here going foward and suggest anyone else should feel confident doing...
Read moreI cannot day enough good things about this store. I was driving by Payless Furniture in New Brunswick when all of a sudden my car wouldn’t start. I was in a gift shops parking lot which is next door to Payless Furniture. I was on my way to pick my mother up from chemotherapy & had to pick her up by 2:30. I was nearly in tears when my car wouldn’t start bc my mother has terminal cancer & cannot be sitting around waiting for me. I prayed for a second & then I thought, let me see if any of the workers at Payless can jump my battery. I walked in their door soaken wet from the downpour & asked them if anyone could jump my car battery next door. A sales woman, Matilda said that she has jumper cables & that she’d help me. What a relief! She was able to get my car started & that wasn’t the only thing she did. My iPhone battery was also dead & she said to come over to their store & she’ll charge my phone for me. People like her & this company don’t come around too often & when I move into my new house in November I will without a doubt buy my furniture from them. They helped me in my urgent situation & wanted nothing in return. They were compassionate to my mother’s cancer diagnosis & I felt like I was amongst friends. That’s how special this group of workers are. So if you want reasonably priced furniture (and beautiful furniture) then I’m telling you to come check out their store in North Brunswick.
