The Porter Room at Holy City Brewing — Local services in North Charleston

Ever since my now husband and I saw the Porter Room under construction, we joked that we should just get married at Holy City Brewing because we love their business, the atmosphere, food and of course the beer! We weren’t engaged at the time, but once things progressed, there wasn’t another venue that we wanted to use to say ‘I Do’. It felt like home to us!

Sarah and Maya at HCB made the experience of renting the Porter Room seamless. Between choosing our drink packages, to reviewing vendors for rental equipment or to having access to tour the porter room, Sarah helped us at every step with creating our celebration. Not only that, but on our wedding day we were planning an outdoor ceremony under the live oaks overlooking the marsh. We had to readjust the day of due to rain and ended up rearranging our ceremony indoors with those gorgeous sliding doors open to the outside and our guests seated at their dinner tables. The Porter Room is so versatile, we wouldn’t have been able to pull off this last minute change without this venue.

Not only were Sarah and Maya great, but our other HCB staff who bartended our event were wonderful to work with. They were incredibly patient and considerate even when our guests were rowdy towards the end of the night. The Porter Room was the perfect venue for our wedding day! Holy City Brewing was the first place my husband and I visited together our first time in Charleston, way back in 2019, so when we found out they had a venue space, we were so excited. With its gorgeous, classic Lowcountry views, it provided the most beautiful backdrop for our celebration. The bar was a huge hit with our guests, and we loved having HCB beers on tap! The Porter Room is a gem of a venue with great atmosphere! If you’re looking for a venue with that Lowcountry feeling with views of the marsh, yet keeping a modern vibe, this is the one. It’s right on the riverfront with big oak trees, spanish moss, and a really pretty modern accented building with huge windows that overlook it all. The building is a great size, able to fit plenty of people, and double as a rain plan that will keep a lot of natural light.
