This weekend, my family hosted a celebartion at Coast Brewing Company. I had not been there for 8 - 10 years. I had heard it is lovely but, I was unprepared for how great it is. It was too hot and rainy to be outside. The inside was clean and new, bright and cheerful without being overdone. The wooden bar was beautiful. The bartender, Aiden and owner, Jamie, were welcoming and accomodating above and beyond normal expectations. It felt very relaxing. I spoke with some regulars at the bar and they agreed that this is a welcoming spot for drinks and food. While I am not much of a drinker, I shared a delicious cocktail with a friend. Read moreExactly what we were looking for. Simple local neighborhood brewery. They make beer and you drink beer. Easy as that. There really isn't a bar. Inside the door to the brewery is a table with a card reader etc and behind that is a cooler with 4 taps. When we were there in mid Oct they had HopArt IPA, Boy King DIPA, 35/20 Kolsch & Oatmeal Porter. There are some picnic tables and lawn chairs outside in a big grassy area. Kids and dogs welcome. HopArt was fresh and delicious, Boy King packs a punch, Oatmeal was rich and luxurious and the Kolsch is clean and refreshing. Their beer is always tasty. Blackbeerd and Kolsch are 2 of my staple picks but whenever they have something new, I have to try it.
The facility isn't "all dolled up" so if that is what you prefer, you may want to hit another brewery. But if you crave most excellent beer, really great people and a solid community feel, COAST is your jam.
