This weekend, my family hosted a celebartion at Coast Brewing Company. I had not been there for 8 - 10 years. I had heard it is lovely but, I was unprepared for how great it is. It was too hot and rainy to be outside. The inside was clean and new, bright and cheerful without being overdone. The wooden bar was beautiful. The bartender, Aiden and owner, Jamie, were welcoming and accomodating above and beyond normal expectations. It felt very relaxing. I spoke with some regulars at the bar and they agreed that this is a welcoming spot for drinks and food. While I am not much of a drinker, I shared a delicious cocktail with a friend. It was very well balanced. We tried 4 dishes, all very good and we asked for other's reviews of their food. Everybody was impressed. Finally, I have no connection to this business and very rarely...

Exactly what we were looking for. Simple local neighborhood brewery. They make beer and you drink beer. Easy as that. There really isn't a bar. Inside the door to the brewery is a table with a card reader etc and behind that is a cooler with 4 taps. When we were there in mid Oct they had HopArt IPA, Boy King DIPA, 35/20 Kolsch & Oatmeal Porter. There are some picnic tables and lawn chairs outside in a big grassy area. Kids and dogs welcome. HopArt was fresh and delicious, Boy King packs a punch, Oatmeal was rich and luxurious and the Kolsch is clean and refreshing. We were in luck and Big Boned BBQ was set up there serving some outrageous brisket, pulled pork...

There are several great breweries in Charleston now. COAST is the pack leader in my book.

Their beer is always tasty. Blackbeerd and Kolsch are 2 of my staple picks but whenever they have something new, I have to try it.

The facility isn't "all dolled up" so if that is what you prefer, you may want to hit another brewery. But if you crave most excellent beer, really great people and a solid community feel, COAST is your jam.

They also tend to have a BBQ truck on site. Check their Facebook for details on...

Stumbled upon this gem and was very surprised. Great atmosphere and vibes upon walking in. Jamie and Aiden greeted me and made me feel welcome. Now to the food: had the wings which were kind of small, but plenty of meat on em. Beer really wakes up the wings. (Hint: try the HopArt IPA). The Dalai Sofia Kombucha with a shot of vodka is SUPERB! Definitely check this place out next time you're in park circle!

This place gives you that backyard feel. Cold beers on a hot day. It's a small place that offers big taste. Kolsch and the Smoked Rye ale were my favorites. Bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. Offers outdoor seating corn hole, frisbee and other outdoor games. The only downfall here was it does not offer wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Definitely worth coming back to.

Gotta love laid back industrial breweries. Like you walked into a buddy’s garage. Great location, chill spot, friendly owners. And obviously top quality beers. Blown away by the Kolsch and Smoked Rye Pale. And happy to hear they’re expanding, because they deserve it. This is a must-visit for any self-respecting craft beer drinker.
