Our son has been an active member of Grow fit and wants to have his 8th Birthday party at Sport shouse. Last March 9, 2018 my wife and I together with our son went to Sportshouse to inquire about their birthday package for 25 kids. The Lady whom we spoke was very accommodating she told us that they have an available time for our event from 10:00am-11: 30 am and if we pay an additional $75 we can extend it until 12 noon which we agreed. I filled up the information sheet and signed the waiver of liability and told us if we can comeback the tomorrow to finalize the payment. When we went back the following day to finalize the payment, the receptionist was not aware of our reservation and acting like she was clueless. I explained to her that we are going to make a payment for our son’s party since we already made arrangements for it last night. She could not find the papers we signed from last night and told us that on the time we are scheduled to have the party there is a message from the general manager that says blocked for parties. After an hour of waiting I was able to talk to Fitzgerald (GM) - he told me in front of my son that he cancelled our reservation because no one will facilitate the event and the person who assisted us last night did not coordinate with him. I just said okay it was pointless to argue with someone who whimsically disregards an agreement with a customer. We don’t know your internal protocols; we spoke with your employee, we made the arrangements and we booked the event. And now, you’re saying that your overriding that agreement because it was not coordinated with you-that is poor customer service. Fitzgerald never had the decency to call us that he cancelled our reservation if we didn’t come back that day we won’t know that our event was cancelled and you have the audacity to tell us that your cancelling it because it was not coordinated with you. You didn’t even apologize to us, perhaps that is the way you treat your customers. There are other places in town that will treat you well and respect you. Stay away...
Read moreI have been a loyal member of Sportshouse for over three years, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning. I feel extremely disappointed and disrespected.
My group of friends and I booked a volleyball court for one hour and also paid the $12 drop-in fee, which, according to both the front desk and the website, allowed us to stay until the 11 PM closing time. However, when our reservation ended, the owner approached us and questioned our booking time. We explained that we had reserved from 8:30-9:30 PM but had all (12 people) paid the drop-in fee to continue playing. He then told us we could only stay until 10:30 PM—30 minutes earlier than the posted closing time.
We continued playing until 11 PM, believing we were following the stated policy. At that point, the owner returned to our court and told us we should have left earlier. His tone and approach came across as unprofessional and dismissive. When we tried to explain that we were informed the closing time was 11 PM, he ignored us and walked away. Meanwhile, other courts were still playing, and the food court was full of people, yet we did not see him addressing anyone else about closing time or reservations.
We paid $90 per hour for the court (a price increase under the new ownership) plus $12 per person, and we expected to be treated with the same fairness as other guests. The majority of our group was Latinx, and we couldn’t help but notice that we were the only ones approached about leaving early.
This experience left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. As a result, we will not be coming back, and neither will many of our friends who frequently played here. I hope management takes customer concerns seriously because this was a deeply disappointing experience.
*If you are Latinx, I’d recommend thinking twice before supporting this business—you may not be...

My friends and I have been members of Sportshouse for about two years. In the first year, there was a very good, polite, and kind staff, but that changed. Since last year, the employees seem unprepared, with the exception of Manny, who is always nice. The worst employee is Elizabeth; she is hostile, rude, and always in a bad mood, but we were overlooking that. However, yesterday (March 21), we felt completely disrespected by a person who claimed to be the owner of Sportshouse. That’s right, the owner. An entirely unprepared person to serve the public treated us rudely, mocked our group, and almost kicked us out of the place, which we pay to access, and where there was a scheduling mix-up due to his team’s mistake.
The most interesting point is that the owner addressed only our group, which has a majority of Latin members. Our group has decided not to return to the location; they will lose about 20 members. Speaking of members, they are practicing outrageous pricing; the membership cost around $30 three months ago, and...
