This placed used to be the best place ever!! I used to volunteer there as a kid and even adopted my dog from there! It was such a special place. But they remodeled and it's much bigger and different. But I also noticed a bit of a change in atmosphere. Whoever runs the place isn't very warm.. I didn't feel welcome by the other people who worked there pretty much every time I've gone in. They are either snarky, force you to sign in like they are the police or something and they won't even let you pet or play with he poor animals locked in glass cages. Hope that they can find more kind helpers and better policies who have good Human customer service as well. They also make it impossible to play with the animals since I have tried multiple times to get on their volunteer list but it's always too full. Feels like you need to be in some kind of elitest "club" in order to just offer some help to the animals. Basically make it hard for good warm hearted helper and volunteers to even get a shot. Doesn't seem right or fair.. maybe you can have some other events with the pups so they can get walks and outings more often and have more volunteer opportunities for those who...
Read moreI have volunteered at PIN for a couple months and I’m always amazed by how amazing they are. I am from Brazil where the shelters can not do a great job since they don’t get good financial support. When I first started at PIN I could not believe it was real. They treat the animals with so much love. The staff is incredibly skilled. I had the pleasure to work with Mai (RDC). She invited me to help them when we met at the vaccine clinic and I’ll always be grateful for it. She’s a great leader. Her experience and knowledge are incredible. I have learned so much from her! I love PIN and this shelter will always be part of my life. All the animals there get the BEST treatment they could ever have. The rooms are always clean, they get food, fresh water and so much love from everybody. The medical team do what they can to make sure the animals will have all they need until they are available for adoption. I wish we had a place like PIN in Brazil. Thanks PIN for saving lives and thank you all the staff for...
Read moreI had such a positive experience adopting my cat from these guys! Of all the shelters nearby (and I visited all of them), Pets In Need is by far the best run with the friendliest staff. Their descriptions on the website are the most detailed, they let you meet cats in foster and ask questions to get to know their personalities, and really go the extra mile to make sure their animals are healthy. When I adopted my cat, they gave her to me for free because she was a senior black cat and it’s hard to find them homes. They had already microchipped her, gave me all her health records and history, and gave me a carrier and food to take her home with. When she had trouble adjusting to the new environment, they gave me advice and a different litter box to try. My cat is exactly what I wanted and exactly as the foster described. I would definitely go back to Pets in Need if I were to adopt...
