The appeal is the fresh-made tortillas viewable from the window facing the street. Possibly the birria is also slow-cooking in a large pot at the front as well. I ordered 1 each of the different tacos on offer (birria, carne asada and pollo). Carne asada was a 2 (so little meat in the fluffy homemade tortilla). The chicken was a 3 star. Liked the soft pulled meat. But the winner was the birria tacos (5 ⭐️). Not only was the meat tender and moist but the quantity of meat offered in the taco was beyond expectation. The toppings for the tacos and soups are present on each table (onions + cilantro/parsley, hot sauces, limes halved and quartered , hot chili oil) The preponderance of customers were ordered soups and tortillas on the side. Birria at 7:48 on a Tuesday morning? Menudo with fresh tortillas and lots of onions? Taquería González has you covered. I come for the tortillas, usually made while I order, and one of the stews. On each table is a service container holding onions and bright cilantro, a molcajete full of oregano and dried chilies, then another with lime slices, three kinds of salsa in squeeze bottles, and a bucket of rich, oily, nutty mole. This morning, the tortillas, were too hot for me to touch when they arrived at the table. The birria de chivo is sound but not complex. With lime and onions and chilies to taste, you have a delicious filling for a fresh tortilla. There was a re-run of Mexico playing Panamá on the T.V. today, but no one was really watching; everyone was too interested...

The food is very good. Both the virus and menudo are spot on and the tortillas are delicious. The only problem with the restaurar is the service. I placed a takeout order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived at the time and had to wait more then 45 minutes to receive my food. They had a line of 5 people ahead of me and having their cashier attend to any of them took close to 10 minutes per person. There seemed to be no interest whatsoever in attending to people in a timely manner. While I like their food, I honestly don't think I'll be going back as I honestly value my time a bit...
