Beta Electronics — Local services in North Miami

Horrible business!! I took in a record player back in June of 2023, and he gave me an estimate of 8 months. After the 8 months i started constantly calling and there was no answer, i also went to the place (i couldn’t go often because it’s far) but no one was there. i called every month after and no one ever answered. Then finally in April of 2024 the owner answered and i explained the issue and he told me to come in that day so i went. He took us to the back to look for it but it was impossible to even walk. There is piles of electronics stacked up all over the place. The place is dusty and dirty, and the roof is falling apart. My record player was nowhere to be found, the owner told me he would get a team to help him find it. It is now June 2024 a whole year after i brought it in and i still haven’t heard back from the owner. I’m super annoyed and upset at this whole situation it is super unprofessional. I 100% DO NOT recommend...

I was put off by this place at first. The location is a low-rent industrial store front. The inside looks like an episode of “Hoarders.” But my vintage speakers needed new caps and shops that do that kind of work are getting tougher to find. Beta Electronics is a factory authorized service center for McIntosh, so they have to know a thing or two.

They do know their stuff. I’m glad I didn’t let appearances scare me away. This shop had just what I needed—older guys who know how to resurrect vintage gear. Engineers that know more than just how to replace modules or circuit cards. On top of that, service was reasonably fast, and the price was fair.

If you require a beautiful storefront tended by a service concierge wearing a nice suit, you will be horrified. If you want to get a knowledgeable engineer to tend your vintage gear, this is where he is.

BTW, no credit cards are accepted. Cash or check...

I’m very happy with the service I received at Reflections. I brought in two vintage turntables for service and they did a great job in making sure my turntables will work at peak performance. As soon as I walked into the the repair shop my first time there, they treated me like VIP. I highly recommend Reflections to service all your electronic equipment. They are awesome.
