-High Price, -Terrible Internet Speeds, -Dog Poop Everywhere, +German Shepards Allowed
---The Apartments are decent for the price considering the area, most places nearby are slightly more expensive for a smaller apartment with the same amenities.
---The Media package is $99/month if I remember correctly, and that includes TV/Internet and Phone. For that price, I would expect some decent speeds, but I probably average 900-1200kb/second... Yeah, that's 0.9-1.2Mb/second. The website used to say "Fiber Optic Internet", but they changed it recently. If you are a gamer, I would recommend you take your Xbox/Playstation/PC to a friends house who has a better internet connection to download your games because it takes me well over 4 days to download a 20GB Game. They recently did an upgrade where we were getting around 8MB/second for about a week, but now it's back to the less than 1MB/second again.
---The grounds are kept nice other than the dog poop that the residents need to pick up. I don't hold the apartment responsible for that though, just means that you'll be living near a bunch of slobs that don't clean up after their animals. Also, I have a German Shepard that I clean up after, it's not that hard, just take bags with you because even though they have bag stations, they are rarely stocked. Pet policy is awesome, I don't think they have any breed restrictions.
---Overall I give them 3 stars instead of 4 because I have brought it to their attention multiple times that our front door doesn't seal properly, so water gets in as well has the heat escaping in the winter and the cool escaping in the summer and they still haven't done anything about it.
---Also, the heater/AC is the loudest I've ever heard, to the point you have to turn up the t/v and talk louder when it is on. Extremely obnoxious.
Edit: 6/11/2018 We moved out on May 31st and received our final bill on the 8th of June. We were billed for Carpet Replacement and Full apartment paint on top of the standard cleaning fee and last months utilities for a grand total of $963.57. I went in to get a better breakdown of the charges, the Carpet was replaced because of "Pet Damage" which means they pulled it up and found some stains on the bottom side. Painting I didn't ask about because I understand that $150 for paint was for some paint that was flaking in high traffic areas. Pet deposit of $300 was actually only $150 because the other $150 was a "fee", so we got that $150 put towards our bill. When I asked why the monthly $35 pet rent didn't go towards the damages and wear and tear of the dog being there, she said, and I quote, "The $35 a month is just rent, it doesn't go towards deposit or anything of that nature. It's strictly just pet rent." I lived here from April 2015 to May 2018 and I paid them $840 extra for the 2 years I've had my dog and that just goes straight into their pockets. If you have to rent, this place is okay as long as you don't have pets. They will charge you for carpet even if the carpet still looks practically new...
Read moreEDIT: I have to edit this review because I am so frustrated with the amount of noise that IS NOT being fixed. our down stairs neighbors lock their dogs in their bathroom and let it cry all day and evening. Our upstairs neighbors just moved in and I swear they're wearing bricks as shoes by the sound of their walking at 2:30AM and 5:30AM (our previously upstairs neighbors never walked like this). I've talked to the office about the noise, complained, and nothing has been done. I understand that it's difficult to get ahold of people especially when they know they're doing something wrong. The only thing the office suggests doing is moving to another apartment within the complex (for $300) but why should I have to move all my belongings, spend all the time doing that because of someone else's issues? It's just so sad because we've really enjoyed the apartment itself but If you are moving in PLEASE AVOID BUILDING 11 and the stair well closest to the round about. Your neighbors are extremely loud and treat their animals poorly. We are actually moving out 2 months early and paying double rent because the noise is affecting our daily lives (It's like living with a newborn baby, waking up every two hours). No one should have to live like this. I hope they can figure out how to properly communicate with their residents about how to be respectful towards their neighbors and the dogs they own.
ORIGINAL POST: We have lived at Hampton Place for about 6 months have really enjoyed our time here! I really like the clean and modern style they've incorporated inside. The location and community is safe and I always feel comfortable walking around with my baby. For those comments below who say the noise is terrible, I'd say it's just apartment living. You'll always hear your neighbors no matter what and that's the sacrifice you make for living wall to wall. I'm always so impressed with how friendly and prompt the maintenance guys are. They've always been so pleasant and actually care about what's going on in the apartment. Overall we've really enjoyed our time here and have referred our friends to live...
Read morePeople don’t pick up after their dogs… not a biggie right? Well my dog caught parvo and nearly died. Her vet bill… more than my rent in November. The office (🤷🏻) Kids from all around the neighborhood take advantage of the amenities with very little to no push back from the office, unless residents snitch. Office staff lack total self accountability, integrity, understanding, and are fine with a tense and very stressful living environment. Don’t speak back or complain. Because after that you’re the issue not them. Ask to speak with AMC management…. lol! Nothing. Like I said. Lack of accountability. They have an excuse for everything. Literally everything. Things have gotten so bad. I asked to be released from my lease. Now, you can deal with all of that…. But remember. You’ll be paying premium apartment rental pricing . I’d really reconsider if you choose this place. AMC has several properties in the area. I’ve checked all of them out and spoken with residents. The concerns are always the same. Totally lack of professional and honest office staff. So glad I’m leaving and getting far away for these people. Also…. Notice all the other reviews line out the same complaints…. And here we are with the same issues. This coming from someone with impeccable rental history. Due to the office personnel…. This is the very worst apartment I’ve ever had.lets see… power went of this weekend. Idk, how many times it’s happened. But it happened all the time. Sewage came Up my drain last week… I’m sure there’s other stuff but I cant think of them right now. But hey…. If that’s not enough. They will escalate issues to be nearly physical. Then play the victim role only to threaten to call the police on you. This is a very very very...
