Wait....What!??! I just purchased a great assortment of prepared items from Northampton Seafood as I frequently do. The lady tells me $69.93.....I hand her my Visa.....I sign....I'm on my way. Once home, I see I am charged $72.72 - the additional $2.79 being added to my receipt for "customer service charge". Really? How else am I going to get my items unless someone "serves" me at your store? Really, it was the underhanded way of just tacking it on the bill and not saying anything that has soured me. No mention. No signage indicating this new fee they're adding (there may be now, I'm not sure as I have not been back.). I've been patronizing them for years and years. They never used to add a service charge before and I don't know why they feel compelled to start doing it now. It's alienating to customers. I tend to not patronize establishments that charge extra for the "convenience" or "privilege" of allowing customers to use their credit cards. Not everyone walks around with a boatload of cash on them. Five stars for seafood offerings - they are great - one star for the sneaky experience. Just bring a wad of cash or else be prepared...
Read moreI was just in to pick up 2 large Lobster Tails to make for Father's Day. It was a spur of the moment idea, and as luck would have it I made it there with 20 minutes to spare before they closed on Saturday. I only ever made Lobster myself once before, about 35 years ago, and I couldn't remember how. As I was leaving two of the employees were out front putting a Father's Day message on the sign by the road. I think the person I talked to may have been the owner. I asked him him how he would recommend that I make it, and he proceeded to give me his instructions. Let me tell you, he knew what he was talking about, because my wife and I both agreed it was the best tasting Lobster Tail we ever had. I've tasted a lot of Lobster in my life, but this was amazing. His instructions were very simple and easy to follow too. I would recommend going here to purchase your seafood, and if you don't know how to make something, don't be afraid to ask, they will help you. Thanks Northampton Seafood for making my Father's Day meal one...

They had no fish on the ice, so I asked where the grouper was, and was told by the young girl that they’ll have it after 1 o’clock. I came back at 1:35 PM to find out that the fish still has not come in, and I jokingly commented I guess it wasn’t after 1 o’clock. The young girl just looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and said there’s nothing she can do about it, and I told her I guess you don’t appreciate my business, and said I would be taking my business elsewhere. She said in the most sarcastic tone, have a nice day. I responded with my very own special sarcastic comment, which I will not repeat in this forum. She got the message. I’m a fairly new customer, and they need to get their act together, and teach the young girl that works behind the counter a little sense of manners. I will never return.
