Santa Fe Taco Co — Restaurant in Northampton

I ordered three minutes prior to arriving. I ordered the basic hard beef taco two of them when I got there it was ready I sat down to eat the tacos and now we broke my teeth because the tacos shells were stale, so I went up to the counter and asked the lady hey my two taco shells are stale. Can you renew the stale shells please and she Rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth at me gave me such an attitude and open the tacos up with her hands and crunched the taco with her fingers and said it’s crispy enough. I said I would like a fresh one she then said well, if you show up on time, then it wouldn’t be sitting there and turn stale. Mind you it was only three minutes that I called it in and showed up so I got a phone call set down the lady screaming for me to come up to the counter they didn’t even have the decency to give it to me. I was around the corner they were screaming Lady hey lady your taco. I get both of the tacos I sit down to eat the one and it was OK. The meat was dry however I ate it it was fine the second taco she never even remade. She left the stale taco in there, so I came back up to the counter and told her meanwhile , I forgot to say while I was sitting there waiting, they were talking all about me and saying things about me that I was just basically making stuff up. Trying to make themselves feel good. I guess I don’t know But it’s unprofessional and rude simply! They should’ve given me the taco right to begin with. She told me that they opened up a new package and this was on the top and made an excuse for her stale tacos. The lady was rude also and she was sucking her teeth, so I will not be back, and I will not recommend this place to anyone, because of their practice. Second of all I’m looking around for a trashcan to throw my stuff out and you have to walk the hall of shame all the way to the back where the servers use the garbage and throw your stuff out. There’s not enough lighting in the place and I’m not sure if I feel safe eating...

So disappointed! They used to be so good. We just left there and left half our food in the garbage. I honestly didn't feel safe eating it. I ordered the #4 combo with an enchilada, chile relleno, and taco. I'm almost 100% sure it was microwaved. There's no way it'd be that hot but also that gummy and just...eww. Stuck to the plate when I scraped it into the trash. The taco was horrible. Their shells are good but the meat was so dry and dusty, it absolutely was not fresh and didn't even melt the cheese they put on it. How? If it's not served hot, it's not safe. I spoke to the owner because I was genuinely appalled by how terrible the food was. Shockingly terrible. He DID offer me my money back but also acted surprised and said their food was made fresh and made the same way for the past 15 years. I asked him flat out if the food was held hot and just served. He denied it but there was zero cooking going on there. Just serving from a steam table. They weren't busy today and maybe other times they were, so maybe the food was fresher the previous times. Who knows. And riddle me this: we ordered fries, which the owner assured me were cooked to order. So how did I never see or hear anything go in the fryer? We were sitting at the table closest to the counter. The chile relleno too. Never heard a fryer basket drop. I'd be inclined to bring a food thermometer and see what temp they're serving...

I honestly don’t understand all the great comments about friendly service. The girls at the counter and even the older women behind the counter have always been snotty to me and various members of my family. They literally roll their eyes and are often rude. You can tell they talk about customers behind the counter. Food is decent and is the only reason I gave 2 stars. The rest were taken off for really unfriendly workers. I don’t know their names or if they’re related to the owners or what but they’ve been there a long time and they’ve always been unfriendly. And we always leave a tip and always greet them and say thank u etc., but we don’t get the same back. It’s bad enough that we often WANT to eat there but choose somewhere else because of the staff there in the afternoon (not sure if they work there at dinner time, we only ever...
