It's a shame that I even had to give this store 1 star. If -5 was an option, that's what I would give. I had bought a Canada Goose coat online that did not fit. My sister-in-law, my daughter and I went to the Northbrook location to exchange the coat. They did not have the same coat in a smaller size. I approached a sales associate and asked if it can be ordered. She told me that it could, but we would have to do it through online because of the tax difference. I said fine. Instead of the associate refunding my card, she put it in a gift card. She preceded to tell me to keep the initial receipt because of the new coat didn't fit, they could refund my original payment. It was a completely different story. The customer service people told me that it can only be refunded to a gift card. I told them that this is not what the associate told me initially. I told them that I had 2 other people with me when the second order was placed and they heard the same thing. The customer service lady got on the phone and called the online customer service. They told her that it can only be refunded to the gift card. And I said I wanted to speak to a manager. I proceeded to speak with the online associate on the phone. Then she put me on hold for 30 min. She came back after 30 min and told me that a refund could be processed and returned to my initial form of payment. And told me to hang in a few more mins. She put me back on hold for another 25 min only to come back and tell me that nothing could be done. As this was happening, they associate that did the initial return and put MY money onto a gift card was walking by. I flagged her over and asked her to tell the customer service people what she had told us when the initial return was made. And she completely lied through her teeth. And I confronted her in front of the customer service team. She tried to paint me as the liar. She last words to me before she stormed away we're "that is not even remotely close to what I said." I was in shock!!!! The nerve of this woman to lie to my face! I have never in my years of shopping ever been so disrespected so badly in a store. That associate should've been terminated immediately. At this point I was so infuriated that I got up, took my item, and my receipts and left. I sat in my car and thought about what just happened. What nerve, I just spent $950 on a coat from this company(not a small amount of money)and when someone doesn't want to keep it and the associate is at risk to lose her commission she resorts to lying and humiliating the customer. So people, heed my warning! If you see a woman on the second floor with 20 pounds of mascara on and jet black hair STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!! You are better off shopping at Nordstrom. Where the customer service is exceptional! It's been about an hour since all of this happened and I'm still in shock. I will be calling the store manager tomorrow to complain! People like her should never be working...
Read moreWas looking to see if the N-M I'd seen 40 years ago was still open. Relatives were visiting from Ohio, so we actually were looking for another retailer when I decided to park at the N-M Lot entrance, easy to remember.
We were followed as soon as we came in. Having worked store security for several years, I recognized the "feeling". We went out into the mall, found the store we actually wanted, and had lunch. We had an elderly relative with us, my other relative said "yes" when I asked her if she wanted to have a little fun? When we got back to N-M we proceeded to TOUCH and DISCUSS EVERYTHING on our way to the outer exit.
I noticed 2 young ladies swiping stuff as security followed us colored folks. Our elder was confused, announcing several times that we couldn't afford this stuff. We wandered further, consulting the sales staff at various counters. Finally, we got to the exit, staff close to us. I was the last to exit. I turned, said (loudly) that we aporeciated the N-M staff's attention to us, but thought that the 2 young ladies who had been shoplifting would need attention? The staff looked at them, the young ladies took off running to the interior mall doors, then the security staff took off after them.
Our elder could not understand our laughter. I lived in Chicago for a few more years, but never went back to that mall, and...
Read moreI wanted to share my personal experience with the store and specifically with perfume department specialist Inna Sirkis! She’s the best! I’ve been coming to this store for years now, and since the first day I stepped inside, she has always impressed me with her professionalism and genuine passion for her craft.
Inna has a deep knowledge of Maison Francis Kurkdjian and the history of the brand, which makes every interaction not just about selecting a fragrance, but also about learning and appreciating the artistry behind it. Her expertise in perfume making is remarkable—she can break down the notes, explain how they evolve on the skin, and guide you through the story each scent is telling.
What I value most is her ability to choose the right fragrance every time. She takes the time to understand my preferences and mood, and somehow always manages to recommend the perfect scent, whether it’s something timeless and elegant or fresh and new. Because of her, I’ve built a fragrance wardrobe that feels personal and unique.
If you’re looking for someone who truly knows the world of perfumery and can make your shopping experience both educational and enjoyable, Inna is absolutely the...
