DO NOT GO HERE - Brought my brand new engagement ring in for a temporary sizer to be put on until I could get my ring to my regular jeweler - I wanted a silicone/plastic piece to put on, but they did not carry it in stock, so instead the woman working there suggested a ring gaurd. I asked her if there was any way that the ring gaurd would damage my ring, she replied no. We talked a little more about it and then I asked her again "will the gaurd be invasive to my ring at all" she said no. So I gave her my ring and she returned with a piece of metal slapped on my ring. I hated it so I had it removed, and even offered to still pay them. When they removed it there were 3 scratches on my less than one week old engagement ring that I had waited 8 long years for from my fiancé. I trusted them with my previous symbol of love and they ruined the band. They "attempted" to buff off the scratches, but they are still visible to the naked eye, and there was no way I was going to trust them with my ring again and allow them to buff it out for a second time. The owner informed me that sometimes people make mistakes. It was not a mistake that the employee working there lied to my face and told me that it would not damage my ring in any way. It was MY mistake for going there and trusting them, I will never go back. They will not be missing much business because we only took our watches for new batteries and random things for polishing, but we will never be back. This is why I say they are untrustworthy, because the employee that I had direct contact with either lied to my face or had no idea what she was talking about and was not trained to the fullest. I appreciate the fact that the manager offered to buff my ring out another time, but once trust is broken it cannot...
Read moreI will honestly say I haven't had a TON of dealings with this company but the times I have, has me respecting them more & more. My first experience was at the Six Mile location (long ago) and I was SHOCKED with what they offered me for my wedding ring set from long ago. I held on to the set for a long time after taking it to many jewelry stores that offered to buy it for less than a fraction of what it was worth. I decided to take it to Redford Coin & Jewelry with an amount in mind that I'd "settle" for, based on all the past offers from different stores, and save that money for future jewelry. I was offered a little more than TWICE what I'd settle on. This says to me that this business is HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY. They did NOT have to offer what they did...but clearly they aren't looking to take advantage anyone. Of course I accepted the offer and ended up putting that money toward another another diamond and had them make a new ring ! If ever I am looking to make a jewelry purchase, or know someone looking to buy or sell, I very highly recommend Redford Coin & Jewelry. This experience (15+ years ago) has left an impression on me that I will never forget. They are friendly, patient and not pretentious. I simply respect and trust...
Read moreI phoned yesterday (12/16/18) to inquire about the availability of a particular coin. The staff member with whom I spoke was rather abrupt, curt, and borderline rude; her response led me to believe she wasn't entirely certain whether the coin was in stock or not. Her replies were along the lines of "I'm not sure" and "I really don't think we have one." One would think -at a minimum- someone would be willing to verify the inventory for a prospective buyer. Moreover, if it wasn't available, would it not behoove them to at least take my name/contact info as a courtesy and perhaps notify me if one became available in their shop? I wasn't looking to buy a face value 1990s circulated nickel for a Whitman folder, (nor was I looking to buy a rare coin valued in the tens of thousands of dollars), rather, the coin I sought would've only been a few hundred dollars. Perhaps that is too lowbrow for Redford Coin. I cannot say much for their professionalism or customer service. Business must be outstanding to be so dismissive toward consumers out in...
