I am currently making this post because my heart is truly heartbroken by this. RURAL KING YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES. i canāt believe what Iāve witnessed while visiting the store. Me and my boyfriend came too look around well i love animals and anyone that knows me knows i do and care about any living creature. I noticed one chick just one out of the whole group in different ben. I thought he was dead just cause he didnāt look right, sadly i noticed he was breathing! He was suffering!!!! He was alive and breathing. I went straight away too get a worker after a few minutes of making sure he was alive and not dead. This worker in particularļæ¼ was very rude and not friendly what so ever, i was very nice about going up saying excuse me over three times. He looks at me and says ā we canāt do nothing we just throw them out when they die ā like what? Ok. So he just walks away doesnāt even care.. I go back to the chick to make sure heās still breathing he is! The other chicks however r stepping all over him.. his eye his throat it was heartbreaking.. i wanted to pick him up but i knew the business would have a problem with that even if they donāt care about their animals. However i couldnāt do it so i went and got another worker. By this time i was crying my eyes out i couldnāt hold it back i said ācan you can you please at least get him out because like thatās sad heās being stepped all over and sufferingā the worker says he wl go get another worker. Sadly they never did! And because of this i shall no longer ever go there until this place is shut down or until they can be responsible of their animals. They r living creatures. THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE PUT ON DISPLAY! they need to be in a closed comfortable environment not an open environment where anyone could touch them. Animal can get diseases and Iāve been their plenty of times and you all do not care for your animals and you make me sick. Please share this if youāve had any experiences like this at rural king in Norton Va Rural King Supply truly breaks my heart. If u canāt save just one chick from suffering or at least try. I love Rural King and they usually have amazing deals, service and employees.
This time though- I came in at 11am to do some shopping for my dog and chickens. I was surprised when someone said they had live chicks and some ducks in the back. I went back excited because I'm looking to start my new batch for the season. Unfortunately as I looked into the barrel/tubs what I saw broke my heart. There were dead chicks that were being walked on, some smothered because the heat lamp wasn't low enough and they were seeking warmth. Others were sprawled out and looked like they had been dead since yesterday.
Live animals always require first attention. I tried to get some help and got blank stares saying that wasn't their area. So I went to customer support, they said they were sorry and would call someone over right away. I went back and waited, no one came.
It was so difficult for me not to scoop up the dead chicks and fix the lights for the rest. I want to believe that this is not normal for Rural King employees, I want to believe maybe the person in charge of the chicks was just running late for their shift and will address it asap.
As a customer I wouldn't want to buy my season chicks with dead bodies laying with the ones alive.

I purchased a chainsaw for over $200 and, after speaking with an associate who indicated a return was possible after use , attempted to return the item. However, the manager refused the return, citing store policy despite the chainsaw being in good condition. This refusal, coupled with the manager's less-than-courteous behavior, was quite frustrating.
My concern stems not only from the manager's decision, but also from the apparent discrepancy in information provided by store associates regarding return policies. This inconsistency created confusion and ultimately resulted in an unsatisfactory customer experience. While I understand the need for return policies, I believe a more consistent and clearly communicated policy, along with appropriate staff training, could prevent similar situations.
I would appreciate it if you would investigate this matter and review the store's return policies and employee training protocols. I hope that Rural King will take steps to ensure that future customer experiences are more positive...
