Novi Fine Wine & Liquor — Local services in Novi

Intended to purchase a premium foreign whiskey. Ask the salesman if he had it in stock. He courteously search for it and found a product similar to what I was looking for it. I gathered a few other liquors. Upon ringing me up, I asked how much the premium whiskey was, he stated it was 350 dollars but since I was buying other liquors he said "I will give you good price since you are buying others" which he knocked 50 dollars off. When I returned home, i searched the different whiskeys from the same manufacturer. I ran into the one i just purchased and found it to between 115 to 130 dollars. This was infuriating. I went back to the store to confront the salesman about this. I asked if I could return it but he said I cant because it is Michigan law, which is understandable and true. I asked him why he sold me this for double the price and he said "you can't trust the internet at times". I told him there many websites that had the whiskey for half the price he sold me. He just shrugged. Never have I ever felt ripped off or conned.

I rarely post a reviews about business but felt obligated to share my experience and hope no one else goes through this. If you are buying expensive premium liquor, do your homework and make sure you are paying market value it.

This is a pretty nice liquor store, but they ripped me off and hence the negative review. I purchased two kegs of premium beer from Novi Fine Wine & Liquors, and as expected it was quite expensive. The beer was a bit pricey, and of course there was a deposit on the taps and kegs. However, I was unexpectedly charged tax on the deposits, and then when I brought it all back at the end of the night I was given just the deposit back - and the liquor store kept the tax. I asked the owner about it since the numbers didn't seem to add up, but he just did some hand waiving and said it was okay. It was late at night and I didn't feel like arguing with him, so I left.

There are lots of other liquor stores around the area, and I would recommend not coming here, especially for items...

MASSIVE PRICE GOUGING* I tried buying a 4-pack that cost $9.49 at most other places, the guy rang it up as $18.99!!! Double what others charge. To add to matters, it was tagged as $8.99, but he said that his price gun was broke and it omitted the "1", ya right! I had a second item, a 6-pack, and he did the exact same and had the same excuse. So, for $20 worth of beer he tried charging me $40. I decided to NOT buy these items. Worst part is that I had drove very far and passed several chain stores hoping to go to a local family business.
