Jia Lounge — Restaurant in Novi

My husband and adult daughter took me here for my birthday. The food and drinks surpassed my expectations! Atmosphere kind of reminds me of a speakeasy which I love! We ordered/shared several items: Five Spice Calamari - best calamari I have ever had! Salmon Carpaccio - so delicious we wished we had ordered one for each of us! Pan fried Steamed Dumplings - OMG! Excellent dumplings and my daughter is a dumpling snob! Crab Cake - wish there were 3 instead of 2 so we wouldn't have had to share! Truffle Fried Rice Trio - This dish was beyond fantastic! Lemon Raspberry Layered Cheesecake - my daughter and I ordered this dessert and loved it! Cinnamon Coffee Cake, Salted Caramel Ice Cream - my husband ordered this dessert, and I thought he was going to lick the plate!

We totally overate but the food was so delicious we couldn't control ourselves!

Jia Lounge is now my designated birthday place! Based on the excellent drinks & food and superb service, looking forward to trying the China...

We have been there a few times now. Drink are ok, they are on the pricey side. The atmosphere is cool and relaxing but the service doesn’t match the place. The past few times we went there we sat at the bar, today we walked in, no body was there to greet us but there was a few tables open. There was no sign to wait to be seated and the tables had no reserved signs on them. So we sat down, the Asian bartender came over to us and asked if we had reservations, I said no. She replied with this table is reserved then proceeded to place a sign on the table in a rude manor, she didn’t ask if we would like another table or suggested to put our name on a wait list. Jia Lounge is a cool spot for grabbing a drink or dinner for a date night. I'd lived in Novi for years without ever even knowing it existed! It's right next door to China Cafe and affiliated with China Cafe as well.

The place isn't huge and provides a cozy atmosphere just due to the limited amount of folks that are ever inside at any given time. I especially appreciated that they take reservations, something that can make or break your evening plans! Added bonus, they take reservations over text! Big pro in my book.
