Aug 2022 Update: Even with the bad experience back in May, we decided to give the restaurant yet another try and see if they got their act together.
To our dismay and disappointment, the service and quality of food have degraded even further.
It was a. early Saturday evening with barely any customers in the restaurant and yet the food served was ice cold. When asked to have food served hot, the server rolled their eyes at us as if we were speaking to the wall. Not only that, it took them 25 minutes to serve a re-heated dish that we watched them toss into a microwave for reheating.
As for ordered Dosas, they were prepared and left on the prep table to get cold before being served. Not only they were cold. we asked them to be well cooked and crispy. Instead, we got served cold and lumpy Dosas. THAT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE.
The staff was not dressed for servicing a restaurant. They were running around delivering food to the tables in their loungewear outfits and bedroom slippers. Regardless of the business class, there has to be some sort of dressing etiquette to be followed.
And oh yes, for the prices they charge per dish, this is a "fast-food" joint and NOT a lavish sit-down restaurant. This time we paid over $75 for cold food for 3 people. That is simply an outrageous price to pay for low-quality food and service.
With that said, although it is only one of the handful of vegetarian/vegan Indian restaurants in the area, this restaurant is off the list and a big No-No for us.
VISITORS BEWARE....
May 2022 Review Very bad experience. Food serving was delayed. Although the food tasted good, it was served cold. Compared to other Indian restaurants nearby, the price per plate is obnoxiously high and exorbitant. Buyers beware. If you are using a credit card to pay for your food, be advised that this restaurant charges you a 3.5% service charge on top of the already high price for each dish. This charge is NOT displayed anywhere on their Menus or the display screens. It comes printed on the receipt AFTER you have paid for the food.
Update to the Owner: No, We did not order Mother's Day special. We spent well over $200.00 for dinner on Mother's Day. Not only the food was sub-par, the person taking the order did not have the courtesy to honor the order. We had ordered coffee TO BE SERVED with food and NOT at the end of the meal. Plus, what restaurants serve undercooked Pooris and Naans before the accompanied Curries are ready to be served? And YES, the prices are way too high for the quality of service and quality of food that is served. So get your act together if you would want to be business for...
Read moreThis is my first time to this restaurant, we were planning to go to different restaurant but in the middle by checking the google we found this. As we needed South Indian food we changed our plan. The food is good I could have given 5 star if everything went well. But the person behind the counter is very rude and arrogant. It is important to treat a customer with respect. He had podi idli in the menu, I asked him what is in podi idli because i am from totally a different country, I mostly know North Indian food but not much about South Indian i clearly mentioned it to him, but he replied we add podi in the idli, I got confused again i asked again what is in the podi? He was so rudely told its lentil and told me that ânext time when you ask, ask what is in podi donât ask what is in podi idliâ. This is not the way to reply customer. In restaurants they will have menu with clear explanation what did they have in it, but since they just put the names of item i asked them what is in it, specially with my medical condition I have to make sure I am not eating a wrong food.
Next we ordered pongal vada, when i see the menu i got confused because I didnât know if they mix vada with pongal and give as a gravy kind of thing or they give pongal and vada separately. When i asked the man, he showed same attitude and said âpongal vada mean pongal and vada, itâs clearly mentioned in the menuâ. It was so rude and criticizing way.
After all these we ordered several foods and gave him tip too. Finally when we eat he brought another dish that we ordered. We told him the food is very good, do you know what he told â you guys know that well thatâs why you came here đ â this person definitely need to know manners. It is important to say thank you when people appreciate your effort after all the attitude you showed.
It looks like he did not have any intentions to give respect during whole time there. We did 1 hour & 30 minutes travel to eat good Indian food, ended up this kind of treatment.
If anyone wants a good South Indian food, this is one of the good restaurant but you have to be ready to ignore all the arrogant behavior during ordering and after and enjoy the food without get affected. But if you need a good food with a respectful environment you should find...
Read moreIt used to be good not anymore. Had terrible experience with food and service. I got such a bad stomach bloat after eating set dosa here which is apparantly their special and I would not recommend this place anymore. In the name of set dosa they have invented something which is not healthy for the gut not sure what ingredients they use it was so much yellow in color never had set dosa which was so yellow in color. Just Stay away.
They made us wait for more than an hour. Everybody were frustrated that they are taking so much time. The stir fry was not tasting good at all and they wouldnt even bother if I asked to do something about it. The cashier was apparently the manager who said its upto you to do what you want to do and nothing can be done. Then we ordered idli and it was rock solid. We left both stir fry and idli for them to throw it away and came back.
Edit : let me know if you want to meet and talk honestly about your cashier version in front of him and see which version of the truth comes out.
I will respond to your response here but I am unable to reply to your response.
The quality of the stir fry was BAD ( we have had it before and we know the reference) And I told him it was bad and he said we can't do anything about it that's how it's made here take it or leave it. I explained it dint have salt, the soy sauce or what ever sauce was barely there and was completely missing taste (may be it was an off instance) which happens and it's fine and it could have been fixed or atleast be considerate of the customers feedback but did not take an ounce of responsibility and didn't care.
I asked your cashier can I talk to your manager he said " I am the manager"
I have no idea what the free stuff you are talking about but you can keep it, we din't need it and don't want it.
So I can go on with the facts. But honestly we used to love your place but consider you have lost a good customer with that terrible experience.
I will also tell you we have had great experience and tasty food in the past years we have been coming. We have a reference of how it used to be but dint feel like it was the same. And we could tell things have changed a lot and many customers that day were complaining we were not the only one. Very...
