DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! This was the worst experience with any business in my life. I am 38 years old (33 at the time). This occurred at the beginning of 2019. While I was raised with the belief that if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it at all, I feel compelled to write this review even after 5 years.
My wife had purchased a guitar from them as a gift for me, complete with a receipt. The guitar was nice, but it wasn’t something that I would ever play (a resonator guitar). So, I found a guitar that was in the price range of the resonator guitar that I was actually looking for, around $300 give or take. My wife and I returned the guitar to Click Music, where the man working the counter (Scott maybe?) said they could order the guitar that I actually wanted. This sounded great to me because I’d rather support a small business than buy online anyway; it should have been a win-win situation. However, in doing so, they would have to take the money from the receipt ($350) and put it on a “Click Music gift card.” And this is where the mistake happened. So, they took my $350 and basically gave me an IOU made of plastic. Never do this. They ordered the guitar, weeks went by, and finally, after about a month, the guitar showed up damaged (scratches, scuffs, clear finish cracking on all the seams, etc.). The same guy working the counter said, "Let us make it right," so I agreed, and they ordered a second guitar. Well, almost another month went by, and the second guitar showed up just as bad as the first. So, I told the guy I'm not interested in this guitar, and his attitude flipped 180 degrees. He went from being polite to slamming the guitar case shut and giving me attitude for not wanting to buy a damaged guitar. Then, I had to ask for my money back from the guy, but he was unable to do so, and the owner came out. I asked if I could have my money back, and she told me she already spent that money and I couldn’t have it back, so I was forced to buy something in her store. She wasn’t polite at all and spoke to me condescendingly. I informed her that I was looking for an electric acoustic nylon string guitar, to which she informed me, “That such a guitar doesn’t exist because the strings need to be metal for the pickup to pick up the sound, you know SCIENCE…” Basically calling me stupid, even though she is the ignorant one who obviously does not know how a piezo pickup works. There's no point arguing with these types of people because it won't get you anywhere. Luckily, my wife’s friend bought the card off of us, and Click Music still got their money. DO NOT give this lady your business; she is scum, she does not care about people, only your money. I really regret being patient and polite with these people. They are literally the scum of the earth and the owner knows nothing about how guitar pickups work. If you live in Oak Harbor, just buy online. DO NOT support...
Read moreAs an Oak Harbor business owner, I have to remark on the unethical business practice of their guitar teacher, Dave. My 10-year old daughter came to an initial lesson and felt slightly uncomfortable, however I encourage her to try one more lesson. I paid for the initial lesson and then due to the fact the instructor did not have change, I paid $100 cash ahead towards future lessons. That following weekend my daughter expressed she was too uncomfortable to continue lessons with Dave. I canceled in a timely manner. I have attempted to obtain a refund from Dave, and he aggressively accused me of trying to steal from him for requesting a refund for services not rendered. He was unsympathetic to my daughters feelings and extremely unprofessional in dealing with this matter. His actions and demeanor reflect poorly upon the business he works for. I use to recommend Click Music every day to my own clientele, however, I will never recommend this place to...
Read moreI teach band at the local high school. Herschel (the owner) made it a point to get to know me and talk about his business and his vision for the business. I never had the opportunity to get to know his mother, but he shared some nice things about her and her vision when she opened Click music to service students and musicians locally. I share this, because it's important to know that while Click is a business, it's a service from the heart from him and his family. I truly believe that. In the last year I've been here, he's worked hard to bring aspects of the business up to, and above, industry standards. He's worked on getting quality instruments for rentals and to sell, and always has a good stock of supplies when my students need stuff for their instruments. It's nice having a small music store with large chain connections.
I've never been disappointed with my experiences at Click....
