On January 11,2022 at Approximately 12:30pm to 1:30 pm, We my daughter and I entered Teriyaki Time in Oak Harbor. And upon entering we were not greeted and stood waiting for someone to address us, for about 2 -3 minutes no one else was in the restaurant except the two employees behind the front counter we waited until they addressed us and after I pointed to the sign saying it says to wait to be seated, at that time it was then said âcan we help you!â I said Yes! We are waiting to be seated! I said this because a sign said â wait to be seatedâ Then what appeared to be the lead worker with blond hair and a Caucasian middle aged woman by the name of Darcy⌠Then stated â you need to order here at the counter then be seatedâ So we then looked at the menu attached to a chain on a stand, She also said we could look at the menu on the wall.. We were then dismissed to do so on our own and given no more assistance! This was very uncomfortable and timely, why not have menus on the table so your customers can be seated and then come back to the front desk and pay instead of standing trying to decide our order. When we finished deciding after standing in a line to the side trying to figure out what we would have, we waited until Darcy and the other employee finished discussing what sounded like personal business but we waited. They took so long I then said excuse me! I am ready to order.. Darcy commented quite sarcastically ok!! So we ordered she then asked what to drink I told her water and she said there is water over in a water container over there, help yourself. So I did but some water spilt on the flooR! I immediately reported the spill! Then they got some papers towels and began to soak up the water.. Using at least a roll! I did not understand why they did retrieve a mop to do so! But it was made clear to me by Darcy that this was the first time it ever happened! Then when we were seated our food was delivered to the table in carry out containers, I did not understand because it was made clear we would be dining in!! I asked for a bowl to eat my soup and they looked at me and said â no!! We donât have any bowls! I said, We are staying to eat in! They said we donât have a dishwasher so no bowls and we have a lack of staff!! I asked for a spoon and was given aplastic little spoon to eat my soup! I asked why, I was not told this was not a place suitable for dining in , while I was waiting in line .. They said they were sorry! I told them I would have left!! But I liked the food! Mind you I have eaten there before! But was never treated in this manner before. After eating, Darcy passed and I called to her asking her name very politely she told me her name was Darcy, then she seemed to care about why I wanted her and I told her I was going to do a review on my treatment today in this restaurant! I informed her of my concerns and mistreatment and I will not be returning to Teriyaki time again and I will be letting my friends know also!! It is best to order I think and pick up from this restaurant! Because the food is good! But customer...
Read moreI have been going here for quite some time. When the first couple times I ordered the Chicken and Gyoza it was amazing. Great portion size for the money($14.99). This item was my go to when ever I get lazy and didn't want to cook. I used to be able to split the meal into two so that I would have lunch for the following day.
Recently, I have notice a SEVERE decline in the amount of food for the exact same price and I am not talking about skimming off little bit of chicken and rice. I used to get three compartments of the to-go box completely filled up. Main compartment was filled rice and the other two smaller compartments was chicken and roughly 8-10 gyoza pieces with sauce cups.
Now, its a single scoop of rice and 4-5 strips of chicken in the main compartment then one small compartment is used to hold the sauce cups and second compartment has 3-4 pieces of gyoza, for the same price! I would understand that they need to lower the amount of food to save money but then the price needed to match the previous price to portion standard that they have set. The original price and portion I previously stated was $14.99 before tax. Now you get half the amount of food and guess how much you pay? $8? $10? NO! It's still $14.99.
This is not about how much the food cost. I understand that restaurants need to survive and make money. But when you engage in these tactics, you lose my patronage. All you needed to do was raise or lower the price with a reasonable statement explaining your situation. I would absolutely continue to support the restaurant if you were transparent.
I wish the restaurant and staff well. I hope to return in the future, but for now I will take my...
Read moreThis place illegally discriminates against persons with disabilities, and they are not easily wheelchair accessible which is a code violation.
My care giver and I were visiting from across the state. My care giver told the waitress that I am in a wheelchair, because I couldnt come inside, he asked if he could bring their menue out to me, so I could place my order, like their other in house customers do. They told us, that because I didnt come inside, I wouldnt be allowed to read their menue.
3 customers complained, and I was finally alloud to read the menue from the parking lot. Staff accused me of trying to steel their menue, so they watched me read it from the windows of their bussiness. This experience was humiliating, degrading, and embarrassing. Nobody should be denied service because they use a wheelchair.
Discrimination against persons with disabilities is illegal. They lost several loyal customers who witnessed how I was treated today, and we will never return. This restaurant has the worst customer service, I've ever...
