Updated review:
The woman in my original review no longer works there. I haven’t had any similar experiences since she left. I love finding random things. They had cartons of passion fruit puree that were delicious. I wish there was a way to get those back, but that isn’t the nature of the store.
My caution is that they sometimes will not honor their posted prices and you have to check your receipt diligently to make sure you aren’t charged incorrectly.
For example I purchased cauliflower tots that were labeled as 0.99. They rang up at 1.99. I pointed out the discrepancy. They checked the shelf and confirmed the shelf said .99 but because the inventory said it was supposed to by 1.99 they wouldn’t honor the posted price. This wasn’t the first time.
Overall I like the staff much better now and they have some deals but I don’t appreciate the pricing issues.
Original review:
So I have been agonizing over the question of writing this review but ultimately decided I needed to because the situation was so bizarre and hostile.
Let me start by saying I normally love Grocery Outlet and this specific location has historically exceeded my expectations.
However I was treated so hostilely and bizarrely I feel compelled to document it here.
Normal trip. I finish and a second lane opens up because the line is long. A woman who I see regularly and is either a manager, owner or very experienced opens the new register. I get in line behind the first person. They unload. I start to unload then suddenly the cashier starts yelling at me to step back. I’m confused. She continues to yell at me. I step back because I have no idea what is going on. She then suggests I was too close to the other customers cart and if something gets stolen she doesn’t want there to be accusations. I was significantly back from the other customers cart and unloading mine. It felt like I was being accused of wrongdoing when none occurred. It was hostile, embarrassing and unnecessary. I’m sure they have cameras if something happens review it. But it is pretty unacceptable to verbally harass and accost customers over something that didn’t happen and wasn’t happening.
The experience has soured me on them. That woman should not have a customer facing role. The whole situation was unnecessary and demeaning for both me and the other...
Read moreI never been to "G.O." before; It was different, yet similar in someway to non traditional food markets. The prices are much lower than local competitors throughout the area. G.O. has a mixture of products from fresh organic vegetables to fresh garden vegetables. The store is well organized. I suggest you browse through the store first to get a sense of where things are. The employees have positive attitudes to go along with their kindness and willingness to assist in any way possible. Kudos to the store manager for her...
Read moreI always have fun here. It's one of the only places in town I can afford to shop at anymore, and for it's much nicer than Walmart. I got used to shopping at places like Whole Foods when I lived out of town, and now I feel like I can feed my family the way I used to before the dollar became worthless. The staff are usually very nice. My 3 year old comes along most times and isn't exactly a perfect angel, but they have nonetheless always been very sweet towards her. I would not recommend the avocados or mangos...
